Special Order made by the Council of the County of Masterton.

THE following special order, made by the Masterton County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

MASTERTON COUNTY.
Special Order making Special Rate.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Masterton County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £600, authorised to be raised by the Masterton County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for bridge-building and road-formation on the Mangarai Road, the said Masterton County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Mangarai Road Loan Special Rating District, comprising Section 115, Lot 3, of Section 118, Block VII; Sections 144, 211, Block VIII; Section 117, Block XII; Sections 146, 116, Block VII; Sections 28, 29, 32, 33, Block XII; Subdivision A No. 1 Pohue, Block XI; and Section 145, Block VII: all in Kopuaranga Survey District: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.
Passed at a special meeting of the Masterton County Council, this 11th May, 1910.
Confirmed this 14th day of June, 1910.
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Masterton was affixed hereto by resolution of the Council dated the 14th day of June, 1910, in the presence of—

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Mangorei Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

MANGOREI ROAD BOARD.
PROPOSED special loan of £850, under the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, for the purpose of acquiring the land necessary to make that portion of the Kent to Barrett Cross Road situated between the Mangorei and Carrington Roads, and to erect a bridge and form culverts and fence the land so acquired.
Result of Poll.
Total number of votes recorded, 22. For the proposal, 18; against the proposal, 4.
A three-fifths majority being required, I therefore declare the loan proposal to be duly carried.

Notifying Land in Hawke’s Bay Land District subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1908.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, I hereby notify that the undermentioned Crown land, being the land known as the Ngatapa Settlement, which has been acquired under the said Act, is subject to the said Act as from 15th March, 1910.
SCHEDULE.
NGATAPA SETTLEMENT.
ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, known as Okahuatiu 1d2b3 Block, parts of Okahuatiu I and 1d2a Blocks and part of Subdivision Okahuatiu 1 of 1d Block, Blocks VI, IX, X, XI, XIV, and XV, Waikohu Survey District, containing by admeasurement 10,692 acres 2 roods 25 perches, more or less, described hereunder, viz.:
Commencing at the most westerly corner of Okahuatiu 1e Block, on the Mangatoetoe Stream; thence north-east along the boundary of 1e, a distance of 5263·7 links; thence north-west along the boundaries of Okahuatiu 1d2b1, 1d2b2, 1d2b4c, 1d2b4b, and 1d2b4a, a distance of 23135·3 links; thence north-east along the boundary of 1d2b4a, a distance of 8848·3 links; thence north-west along the boundary of the Tangihanga 1c Block and a public road to the Totangi Stream, 29308·4 links; and thence along said Totangi Stream to western boundary of Lot I, Land Transfer Plan 1066; thence south-west along western boundary of said Lot I to a road-line, 33923·3 links; thence south-east and south along said road-line and boundary of said Lot I to Okahuatiu 2a Block, 30650·7 links; thence south-east along the boundary of Okahuatiu 2a Block and No. 1b Block, 20661·2 links, to Mangatoetoe Stream, and thereafter north-east and south-east along said stream to the commencing-point.
Excepting out of the land herein described Okahuatiu 1a Block and 4 acres 1 rood 15 perches of Okahuatiu No. 1 Block, now known as Section 8, Block XV, Waikohu Survey District.
And as the aforesaid areas are more particularly shown on the plan marked L. and S. 19404, deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Lands and Survey, in Wellington, and thereon edged with green.

Authorising the Laying-off of Turama, Tiwai, and Rongo Roads, in the Town of Parepare, of a Width of not less than 66 ft. each.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 15 of the Land Act, 1908, I, Joseph George Ward, Minister of Lands, do hereby authorise the laying-off of Turama, Tiwai, and Rongo Roads, in the Town of Parepare, Auckland Land District, of a width of not less than 66 ft. instead of 99 ft.

Defining River Limits for Nelson.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 189 of the Shipping and Seamen Act, 1908, I, John Andrew Millar, Minister of Marine, do hereby define the Nelson limits within which river-limit steamships and ships propelled by gas, oil, fluid, electricity, or any mechanical power other than steam, and to which river-limit certificates are issued, may ply, to be the waters of Nelson Harbour inside the Boulder Bank.

Notice to Mariners No. 69 of 1910.
NEW MOLE AND LIGHT AT ENTRANCE TO WANGANUI RIVER.

Wellington, N.Z., 25th June, 1910.
THE Wanganui Harbour Board have notified that a mole has been constructed for about 2,900 ft. from the inner end of the South Spit at the entrance to the Wanganui River, and a white light has been placed at the outer end of the mole.
