NOTICE TO MARINERS.
WESTERN AUSTRALIA.—WEST COAST.
Final Notice.
The Government of Western Australia gives notice that on
and after the 1st March, 1910, a dioptric, fixed, occulting
light of the third order will be exhibited from a cement
concrete tower of a natural grey colour, erected on Cape
Inscription (Dirk Hartog Island), in latitude 25° 29' 30"south, longitude 112° 58' east.
The light will be occulting, showing an eclipse of 2½"every 7½", as follows :-
Bright, 5".
Eclipse, 2½".
Total period, 7½".
The focal plane of the light, above high water, will be
127 ft., and will be visible between the bearings of north
42° deg. east and north 54° west. (Bearings magnetic, and
given from seaward.)
The light will be visible in clear weather from a distance
of 18 nautical miles.
Charts affected : No. 1056, Cape Cuvier to Champion Bay ;No. 518, Shark Bay.

ALTERATION OF BAR AND CHANGE OF BEACONS AT KAWHIA
HARBOUR.

Wellington, N.Z., 11th May, 1910.
NOTICE has been received from the Kawhia Harbour
authorities that the channel on the Kawhia bar has
shifted about two cables to the north. The depth of water
on the line of beacons at present in use is about 8 ft. L.W.O.S.,
and the depth of water in the new channel is 12 ft. The
beacons, therefore, to mark the channel will at once be altered,
and for this purpose two beacons will be erected on Te Motu,
or the mainland; the front beacon will be on the north-west
extreme of Te Motu, and the rear one as far back as possible
on the island, or on the mainland, bearing with one another
when in line S. 55° E. (true) or S. 70½° E. (magnetic).

Varied Notice fixing Closing-hours of Fruiterers and Refresh-
ment-room Keepers' Shops in the Town District of Otautau
under the Shops and Offices Act.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a
majority of the occupiers of all the fruiterers' and
refreshment-room keepers' shops in the Otatau Town Dis-
trict, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such
shops within the town district shall be closed at 11 p.m. on
all week-days: And whereas the Otautau Town Board has
certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a
majority of the occupiers of all such shops within the Town
District of Otautau:
Now, therefore, I, John Andrew Millar, Minister of
Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices
Act, 1908, do hereby direct that, from and after the 16th
day of May, 1910, all fruiterers’ and refreshment-room
keepers' shops in the Town District of Otautau shall be
closed in accordance with such requisition.
The notice gazetted on the 22nd December, 1904, fixing
the closing-hours of all shops, is hereby varied accordingly.

Revocation of Appointment of Bonding Warehouse.
CUSTOMS.--In exercise of the authority in me for this
purpose vested, I, the Minister of Customs, do by
this order under my hand revoke and annul the appoint-
ment of the undermentioned warehouse for the reception
and security of goods entered to be warehoused without pay-
ment of duty upon the first entry thereof, namely:-
Port of Dunedin.

as appointed and described in Minister's Order No. 871, of
the 20th day of March, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency
the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
under authority of section 93 of the Public Works Act,
1908, that the road described in the Schedule hereto was,
on the 18th day of February, 1910, duly taken and laid off
through the land specified in the said Schedule, under the
authority of the Governor of the said Dominion, by Warrant
dated the 18th day of January, 1910.
