DESCRIPTIONS OF RUNS.

Run 345D: Altitude, from 1,000 ft. to 6,000 ft. Open, broken, pastoral land. Part of northern boundary faces Kawarau River. Northerly aspect. Rather bare in places; remainder good tussock country. Access by Cromwell-Queenstown coach-road, eleven miles from Frankton. The valuation for improvements is £92 14s., made up as follows: Half boundary-fence with Run 345E, 35 chains at 6s. 6d. per chain, £11 7s. 6d.; fence along top of hill near Trigs. L and N, 345 chains at 3s. per chain, £51 15s.; fencing round holding-paddock near Gibbston, £23 11s. 6d.; hut (iron) at Doolan’s Creek, £6.

Run 345E: Altitude, from 1,000 ft. to 4,300 ft. Open, broken, pastoral land, bare in places; greater part consists of good tussock land. Fronts Kawarau River along part of north boundary. Access by Cromwell-Queenstown Road, sixteen miles from Frankton. The valuation for improvements is £92 6s., made up as follows: Fence along road from Section 7 to bluff, 13 chains at 6s. 6d. per chain, £4 4s. 6d.; fence along road and on hill near Trigs. I, O, and H, 360 chains at 3s. per chain, £54; fence into Doolan’s Creek, 65 chains at 5s. per chain, £16 5s.; half boundary-fence with Run 345D, 35 chains at 6s. 6d. per chain, £11 7s. 6d.; fence along east side of Section 19 (material only), 43 chains at 3s. per chain, £6 9s.

Run 330C: Altitude, from 1,000 ft. to 7,500 ft. Open, broken, pastoral land. Good tussock country, and above 3,500 ft. is good snow-grass in places. Rough, rocky faces on west and north boundaries fronting Nevis River and Doolan’s Creek. Distant four miles and a half from Gibbston by old coalpit road, and seventeen miles from Frankton on the Cromwell-Queenstown Road. The valuation for improvements is £19, made up as follows: Stone hut with iron roof, £12; hut near Trig. R, £7.

Run 330D: Altitude, from 700 ft. to 4,200 ft. Open, broken, pastoral country. Rough, precipitous faces along Kawarau River, and land bare and shingly. The remainder is fair tussock country, and good on higher ground. Fronts Kawarau River on north-east and north-west boundaries and Nevis River on west boundary. Distant two miles from Bannockburn by dray-road. The valuation for improvements is £108 17s. 3d., made up as follows: Half boundary-fence with Run 330A, 163 chains at 5s. 3d. per chain, £42 15s. 9d.; half boundary-fence with Run 330A, 162 chains at 5s. 9d. per chain, £46 11s. 6d.; all wire fence along Section 28 (netting not included), 45 chains at 4s. per chain, £9; stone hut with iron roof, £7; sheep-yards, &c. (old), £3 10s.

Run 339C: Altitude, from 1,000 ft. to 4,500 ft. Open, pastoral land, partly broken. The lower country is bare and shingly on northern slopes. Above about 2,000 ft. is good tussock country. Distant ten miles from Clyde and five miles from Bannockburn by dray-roads. The valuation for improvements is £104 11s. 6d., made up as follows: Half boundary-fence with Run 339F, 91 chains at 9s. 6d. per chain, £43 4s. 6d.; half boundary-fence with Run 330B, 115 chains at 2s. 6d. per chain, £14 7s. 6d.; half boundary-fence with Run 330B, 42 chains at 4s. per chain, £8 8s.; half boundary-fence with Run 339D, 22 chains at 3s. per chain, £3 6s.; internal fencing, 78 chains at 3s. 6d. per chain, £13 13s.; half boundary-fence with settlement block, 9 chains at 12s. 6d. per chain, £5 12s. 6d.; paddock-fence, netted (for removal), 40 chains at 8s. per chain, £16.

Run 339D: Altitude, from 1,000 ft. to 4,000 ft. Open, broken, pastoral land, the lower country being rather bare and shingly. From about 2,000 ft. upwards is good tussock country. Distant four miles and a half from Clyde by dray-road. Run 339E: Altitude, from 2,200 ft. to 5,500 ft. Open, broken, pastoral land. Very good tussock country. Fronts Nevis River along west boundary. Distant eighteen miles from Bannockburn, half a mile being by unformed road.

Access from Nevis Township across Nevis River. The valuation for improvements is £113 0s. 6d., made up as follows: Half boundary-fence with Run 354, 285 chains at 5s. 6d. per chain, £78 7s. 6d.; half boundary-fence with Run 339F, 126 chains at 5s. 6d. per chain, £34 13s.

Possession of above runs will be given on the 1st March, 1911.

Sections 21 and 22, Block V, and 28, 29, and 32, Block VI, Clarendon Survey District, Bruce County (Class B): Area, 457 acres 3 roods 24 perches; term, fourteen years; upset annual rental, £4;

Possession of this area will be given on day of sale.

Run 238N, Vincent County (Class A): Area, 8,900 acres; term, twenty-one years; upset annual rental, £50; valuation for improvements, £147 11s. (National endowment.) Possession of this run will be given on the 1st March, 1910.

The valuation for improvements must be paid before the licensees will be let into possession. The approximate amounts of the valuations will be announced at the sale.

Description of Runs.

Run 424C: Small, compact run, nearly surrounded by sheep-proof natural boundary. Well grassed and watered. Altitude, 1,500 ft. to 3,500 ft. In Waikaia Basin, about twenty-five miles from Waikaia, partly by formed dray-road and partly good bridle-track. No improvements.

Run 424D: Similar to Run 424C, but boundaries not quite so good. No improvements.
