Opening Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided in section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-seventh day of June, one thousand nine hundred and ten; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1908.”

Undulating to level land; about 20 acres mixed forest, comprising birch, taraire, rata, manuka, tawa, and a few small rimu-trees; undergrowth of ferns and scrub; balance scrub land, with a patch of tall manuka; soil, loam and clay, with patches of pipeclay, on sandstone formation; watered by small stream. Situated about five miles from Waipu by formed road.
WHANGAROA COUNTY.—TOTARA PARISH.

Altitude, 200 ft. to 900 ft. above sea-level. Very broken land; about 200 acres light mixed forest, comprising taraire, tawa, towai, with undergrowth of nikau and toetoe; balance fern land; soil of second-class quality; well watered by streams. Situated about one mile and a half from Tame-tame Landing on Whangaroa Harbour by partly formed bridle-track, very steep in places.
BAY OF ISLANDS COUNTY.—KAWAKAWA PARISH.

Altitude, 50 ft. to 300 ft. above sea-level. Undulating land, mostly fern, with some clumps of light bush in gullies; soil of second-class quality, on sandstone formation. Situated one mile from Taumarere Railway-station by fair track.

Altitude, 600 ft. to 800 ft. above sea-level. Undulating land; about 100 acres heavy mixed forest, comprising rimu, rata, towai, taraire, with dense undergrowth or kiekie, bush-ferns, and shrubs; balance of section grass and fern. Soil of good second-class quality, on sandstone formation; well watered by streams. Situated about eleven miles from Waimamaku—six miles fair road, and five miles formed track.

Altitude, from 700 ft. to 800 ft. above sea-level. High undulating tableland; about 50 acres cleared and grassed, but now overgrown; balance covered with mixed forest, comprising rimu, towai, and rata, with dense undergrowth of kiekie and toi-grass; soil rests on sandstone formation. Fronts main coach-road from Taheke to Opanake, about twelve miles from Taheke.
HOKIANGA COUNTY.—PUNAKITERE SURVEY DISTRICT.

Soil of good second-class quality, on sandstone formation; well watered by streams. Situated twenty-two miles from Taheke—twenty miles formed dray-road, and two miles pack-track.

Soil of good second-class quality, on sandstone formation; fairly watered by small streams. Situated eight miles from Waimamaku—four miles by dray-road, and four miles fair horse-road.
