Special Order made by the Council of the County of Ohura.

THE following special order, made by the Ohura County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

OHURA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order levying Special Rate in Waikaka-Rimu Special Rating District.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Ohura County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £2,300, authorized to be raised by the Ohura County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for metalling portions of the Waikaka-Rimu Roads, the said Ohura County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Waikaka-Rimu Special Rating Area, comprising all the properties situated within the following boundaries—starting from the most northerly part of Section 13, Block 15, Aria Survey District; then in a south-westerly direction passing the southern boundary of Section 27, Block 15, Aria Survey District, continuing to pass along the northern boundary of Section 2, Block 15, Aria Survey District, and south by the western boundary of Section 24, Block 14, Aria Survey District, passing Section 20, Block 14, Aria, bearing to the south and east past Section 20, Block 2, Ohura, still following the southern boundary of Section 20; then in a south-western direction along the eastern boundary of Section 19, Block 2, Ohura Survey District, till it strikes the Prentice Road; then along the Prentice Road to its junction with the Ryan Road; thence in a straight line to the Ohura River, continuing along the bank of the Ohura River in a northerly direction to its junction with the Waikaka Stream; thence easterly along the southern boundary of Section 14, Block 15, Aria, following the eastern boundary of Section 14 in a northerly direction along the eastern boundary of Section 8, Block 15, Aria, to the Whenuakura Road; thence easterly along the Whenuakura Road till the eastern boundary of Section 13, Block 15, Aria, is met; then northerly continuing around the boundary of Section 13, Block 15, Aria, till the starting-point is reached: comprising the following sections—2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 14, 20, Block 15, Aria; Sections 20, 24, Block 15, Aria; Sections 2, 37, 4, Lot 15, 4, 5, 4, Block 3, Ohura Survey District; Sections 3, 20, Block 2, Ohura Survey District: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off, and subject in all respects to the provisions relating to a special rate raised as security for a loan under this Act. The interest to be paid on such loan is at the rate of £4 17s. 6d. per cent. per annum; and the interest thereon for one year, together with the cost of raising the loan, is to be paid out of the loan.
The above special order was duly made at a special meeting of the Ohura County Council held on the 29th day of October, 1910, and confirmed at a special meeting held on the 3rd day of December, 1910.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Akaroa County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO RAISE A LOAN.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Onawe Wharf Rating District was taken on the 28th day of October, 1910, on the proposal of the Akaroa County Council to borrow the sum of £1,300 for the purpose of completing a road and certain works between Duvauchelles and Barry’s Bays, Banks Peninsula.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 39. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 33. I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

I HEREBY publicly notify that at the poll taken on the 7th day of December, 1910, on the proposal of the Wanganui Borough Council to borrow the sum of £29,000 for the following purposes, namely:—
(1.) The providing of and laying water-mains in the streets and roads of the borough, and of all machinery, appliances, plant, appurtenances, and things necessary or convenient therefor … … … £4,159

Informal—Borough Council Chambers, 3; corner Kaikokopu Road and River Bank Road, Aramoho, 1: total, 4.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.
