HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Wednesday, the 21st day of December, 1910, to be the day for holding the first election of four members of the Council of the Otorohanga Native Township, as constituted under the Native and Maori Land Laws Amendment Act, 1902, and the Native Townships Local Government Act, 1905.

Special Orders made by the Okato Road Board, County of Taranaki.

THE following special orders, made by the Okato Road Board, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Road Boards Act, 1908.

OKATO ROAD BOARD.
Special Order authorizing Loan of £3,000 for forming, &c., the Hampton, Leith, and Perth Roads.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, and with the consent of not less than three-fourths of the ratepayers affected, as testified by their signatures in writing, and whose rateable values as appearing on the valuation roll are collectively greater than those who do not so consent, the Okato Road Board hereby resolves, by way of special order, as follows: That, for the purpose of forming, grading, culverting, and metalling the Hampton, Leith, and Perth Roads from the Main South Road in a northerly direction towards the sea, the Okato Road Board hereby authorizes a loan of £3,000, at the rate of 4¾ per cent. per annum (including principal), for a period of thirty-six years and a half, and declares the cost of raising the said loan and the first year’s interest thereon shall be payable out of the moneys so raised.

Special Order levying Special Rate.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, the Okato Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,000, authorized to be raised by the Okato Road Board, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of grading, forming, culverting, and metalling the Hampton, Leith, and Perth Roads, and in payment of costs of raising and the first year’s interest thereon, the Okato Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Hampton, Leith, and Perth Special Rating Area, comprising Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 16, 17, 18, 19, 24, 113, 114, 115, 116, 117, 118, 119, 121, 122, 123, 124, and part 112, Block I, Sections 11, 12, 20, 29, 120, 125, 126, Block II, and part Section 28, Block VI, Okato District, Cape Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above special orders were duly adopted at a special meeting of the Okato Road Board held on Tuesday, 1st November, 1910, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the said Board held on Thursday, 1st December, 1910, and in accordance with the Road Boards Act, 1908.

Special Order striking Special Rate.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, the Okato Road Board hereby resolves, by way of special order, as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £100 (being 10 per cent. of the original loan of £1,000) authorized to be raised by the Okato Road Board for the purpose of (1) forming, grading, &c., further portions of Dover Road from end of present metal; (2) paying off indebtedness incurred by original loan; and (3) in payment of costs of raising and the first year’s interest on loan, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/9 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Dover Road Special Rating Area, comprising Sections 52, 47, 66, 72, 56, 61, 64, 84, 89, 98, 80, 71, 78, 79, 83, 88, 93, 97, 103, 104, 107, 128, 40, 45, 55, 60, 46, 50, 51, 34, 65, 70, 36, 41, Block VI, Sections 17, 19, 16, part Sections 168, 12, 11, Block VII, and Sections 4 and 5, Block XI, Cape Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.
