JOHNSONVILLE TOWN BOARD.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Johnsonville Town Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £13,500, authorized to be raised by the Johnsonville Town Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the following purposes, viz. :
(1.) To acquire land for a catchment-area in respect of a water-supply … … £ 2,000
(2.) Providing a supply of water to the town, and for constructing waterworks and the necessary appurtenances thereto … 6,500
(3.) Providing a system of drainage for the town, and for the construction of a septic tank and filter-beds, and the purchase of the land required for their erection … 5,000
the said Johnsonville Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Johnsonville Town District (exclusive of that portion known as Newlands), the same being a special rating area for the purpose of the above loan; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.
Passed at a special meeting of the Board on the 1st day of November, 1910, and confirmed this 6th day of December, 1910.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Wanganui County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of that portion of the Wanganui County comprised in the Barton Field–Parapara–Raetihi Road Special Rating Area was taken on the 23rd day of November, 1910, on the proposal of the Wanganui County Council to borrow a loan of £4,000 for the purpose of metalling a portion of the Barton Field–Parapara–Raetihi Road between the 14-mile peg and the Okapua Stream.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 53. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 10. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

EAST TAMAKI ROAD DISTRICT.
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the East Tamaki Road District was taken on the 17th day of November, 1910, on the proposal of the East Tamaki Road Board to borrow the sum of £3,000 for the purpose of improving and metalling with blue broken metal the main roads in the above-named district.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 69. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 29. Informal votes, 3.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

IN the matter of the Oamaru Harbour Board Enabling Act, 1910, and a poll of the voters taken under the said Act on the 29th day of November, 1910, I hereby give notice that the number of votes recorded for and against the proposal was as follows, viz. : For the proposal, 2,177; against the proposal, 238; informal, 25.
As the number of votes given for the proposal exceeds the number given against it by more than one-fourth of the latter, I hereby declare the proposal to be carried.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Eden Terrace Road District was taken on the 3rd day of December, 1910, on the proposal of the Eden Terrace Road Board to borrow the sum of £15,000 for the following purposes :—
(1.) Permanent construction of all roads and streets within the district … £ s. d. 11,737 15 4
(2.) Extension of existing water-mains… 271 0 0
(3.) Purchasing land for widening new North Road and extending Brown Street to proposed new railway-station to Violet Street … … 1,000 0 0
(4.) Contingencies, engineering, &c. … 1,991 4 8
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 139. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 133. I therefore declare that the proposal was not carried.
