authorized by special order made on this the 3rd day of February, 1908, to be raised, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of repaying the existing overdraft and other liabilities in constructing and equipping its tramways in the Christchurch Tramway District (other than in that part thereof included in Riccarton-Sockburn Subdistrict thereof), the said Christchurch Tramway Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 3/100 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property (according to the capital rateable value thereof) of the Christchurch Tramway District, as defined by the Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1906, save and excepting the Riccarton-Sockburn Subdistrict thereof, comprising all that area in the Canterbury Land District described in Schedule 1 of the Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1906.

And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loans, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loans, being a period of twenty-six years from the 1st day of October, 1908, or until the loan is fully paid off.

We hereby certify that the above special order was duly adopted by the Christchurch Tramway Board at a special meeting held on the 3rd day of February, 1908, and was duly confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the Board held on the 2nd day of March, 1908.

CHRISTCHURCH TRAMWAY BOARD.

Special Rate, Riccarton-Sockburn Subdistrict.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1906, the Christchurch Tramway Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on the loan of £10,000, authorized by the Christchurch Tramway District Board, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of repaying the liabilities lawfully incurred in the construction and equipment of the Riccarton District Tramway, the said Christchurch Tramway Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 17/100 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property (according to the capital rateable value thereof) of the Riccarton-Sockburn District of the Christchurch Tramway District, comprising all that area in the Canterbury Land District described in the Second Schedule of the Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1906.

And that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-four years from the 1st day of October, 1910, or until the loan is fully paid off.

We hereby certify that the above special order was duly adopted by the Christchurch Tramway Board at a special meeting held on the 20th day of June, 1910, and was duly confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the Board held on the 18th day of July, 1910.

THE following special orders, made by the Raglan County Council, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.

Special Order making Special Rate, Whaingaroa Special Rating District.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and amendments thereto, the Raglan County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £300, authorized to be raised by the Raglan County Council, under the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, being an additional amount of 10 per cent. on the original loan of £3,000 raised by the said Council under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901, for the purpose of forming and metalling the road from Raglan to Maungatawhiri, and from Maungatawhiri to Waitetuna, which is not sufficient to complete same, the expenditure of the said sum of £300 to be allocated to the various sections in the same proportions as the original loan as above mentioned—a sum of £145 to be expended in completing the formation and metalling of the road from Maungatawhiri to Mangaokahu (Waitetuna), £100 in completing the formation and metalling of the road from Raglan to Maungatawhiri, £25 in completing the formation and metalling of the road from Three Streams to Sweetman’s corner (via Okete), £10 in completing the formation and metalling of the Kauroa Road, and the balance of £20 in completing the formation and metalling of the Te Uku Landing Road—the said Raglan County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅛d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Whaingaroa Special Rating District.

The boundaries of the special rating district are as follows: Commencing at the south-east corner of Section 139 of Block X, Karioi Survey District; thence along the county boundary to Trig. 29; thence along the southern boundaries of Sections 122, 61A, and 60 to the Waitetuna River, proceeding along that river to its junction with the Ohonga River, and following the Ohonga River to the north-east boundary of Section 167; thence north in a straight line to the southern boundary of Section 218, at its junction with the north-west boundary of Section 63, proceeding thence in a straight line to Trig. 35; thence along the northern boundary of Section 63 to its junction with the Whaingaroa Harbour; thence following around the harbour to the Opotoro Creek; thence to the south-east corner of Section 35 (following the boundaries of Subsections 5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 of Section 35, which are all in the Karioi Riding); running thence to the north-east corner of Section 34; thence proceeding along the eastern boundaries of Sections 34, 126, and 105; thence along the northern boundaries of Sections 22 and 21; thence proceeding south along the eastern and north-eastern boundaries of Sections 21, 100, 140, 138, and 139 to the point of commencement.

And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, and the rate of interest to be paid to cover both interest and redemption not to exceed £5 per centum per annum, or until the loan is fully paid off; and it is the intention to pay out of loan cost of raising same and first year’s interest.

The above resolution was duly passed as a special order at a special meeting of the Raglan County Council held on the 13th day of October, 1910, and confirmed at a special meeting of the said Council held on the 24th day of November, 1910.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and amendments thereto, the Raglan County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £100, authorized to be raised by the Raglan County Council under the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, being an additional amount of 10 per cent. on the original loan of £1,000 raised by the said Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901, for the purpose of the formation and metalling of the road from Raglan to Maungatawhiri, which is not sufficient to complete same, the said sum of £100 to be expended in completing the formation and metalling of the road from Raglan to Maungatawhiri, the said Raglan County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/15 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Karioi Special Rating District.

The boundaries of the special rating district are—commencing at the south-east corner of Section 139 of Block X,
