south-east side of the Lincoln Road with the north-east bank of the River Heathcote; thence following the said bank south-easterly to its intersection with a line parallel to and 7 chains distant from Cobham Street in a south-easterly direction; thence following this said line north-easterly to a point 7 chains south-west from the Wilderness Road; thence south-easterly following a line parallel to and 7 chains distant from the Wilderness Road to the north-west bank of the River Heathcote; thence following the River Heathcote to Colombo Street; thence following Colombo Street to Strickland Street; thence following Strickland Street, South Crescent Road, Jerrold Street, and Bright’s Road to the Lincoln Road; and thence following the Lincoln Road to the commencing-point: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-three years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I certify that the above special order was adopted on the 29th day of July, 1909, and confirmed on the 9th day of September, 1909.

THE following special order, made by the Moa Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1908.”

MOA ROAD BOARD.
Special Order in re £300 Loan, being 10 per Cent. additional on £3,000 Loan for Lincoln, Wortley, Richmond, York, and Davis Roads.
THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” the Moa Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £300, being 10 per cent. on a loan of £3,000, authorised to be raised by consent of the ratepayers interested, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of deviating, forming, and metalling the Lincoln, Wortley, Richmond, York, and Davis Roads, the said Moa Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound upon the rateable property of the Lincoln, Wortley, Richmond, York, and Davis Roads Special-rating District, comprising Subdivisions 4 (in two subdivisions), 2, 6, 5, of Section 179, 242, 244, 247, 249, Block IV, Egmont Survey District; 231 (in two subdivisions), 234 (in two subdivisions), 235, 236, 237, part 232, part 238, 248, Block I, Huiroa Survey District; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 20, 214, 215, 216, 219, Subdivisions 5 A and B of Section 220, 221 (in two subdivisions), 224, 226, 228, 227, 229, 230, 233, Block XIII, Waitara Survey District; part 212 (in two subdivisions), part 213, 218, 223, 225, 205, Block XI, Paritutu Survey District: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly passed in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1908,” at a special meeting of the Moa Road Board held on the 15th day of May, 1909, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the said Board held on the 19th day of June, 1909.

THE following special order, made by the Upper Ashburton Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1908.”

UPPER ASHBURTON ROAD BOARD.
Special Order.
RESOLVED, That the Upper Ashburton Road Board (hereinafter called “the Board”), acting as Trustees of the Westerfield Cemetery, doth hereby, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon it by “The Cemeteries Act, 1908,” make the following by-laws for regulating the use of the said cemetery, and otherwise in respect thereof:—
- The Board has created two divisions of burial-ground. Division 1 comprises ground in which the exclusive right of burial in perpetuity and constructing any vault or place of burial therein will be sold. A portion of the ground will be staked off into lots 4 ft. by 9 ft. each, of which the price is fixed at £1 for each lot. Where two or more lots are purchased by one person at the same time the price is fixed at 17s. 6d. for each lot.
Division 2 comprises ground which has been set aside for the interment by or of such persons as are not purchasers of and have not acquired the exclusive right of burial in perpetuity. On ground in this division no monuments or memorials whatever shall be erected, except as hereinafter provided. It shall be competent for persons to purchase ground in Division 2 wherein an interment has already been made of one body only and prior to a second interment therein. The price for a grave 4 ft. by 9 ft. to be £1. After purchasing monuments may be erected.

A sexton will from time to time be appointed by the Board, whose duty it will be to dig all graves required in the cemetery; and no other person will be allowed to dig graves therein without the express permission in writing of the Board.

No interment shall be made without a warrant for that purpose obtained from the officer appointed by the Board to issue such warrants.

In the case of any intended interment, the person having the management or control of the same shall make application in writing for a warrant for such interment to the officer appointed by the Board to issue such warrants, and such officer is hereby authorised to grant a warrant upon payment of such of the undermentioned fees as may be applicable:—

The fee shall in each case cover the cost of digging, waiting, and filling in the grave.

All graves shall be dug 5 ft. deep, but, in the event of a greater depth being required, an extra charge of 2s. 6d. shall be paid for every foot.

Burial warrants must be given to the sexton at least six working-hours prior to the time fixed for the funeral.

Any person who has purchased a burial-lot may fence in the same, subject to the condition that no such fence shall be erected until a plan thereof has been submitted to and approved of by the Board; and it shall be lawful for the Board to remove any fence erected without its permission.

Before any epitaph or other inscription is placed upon any monument or other structure in the cemetery the same must be submitted to and approved of by the Board; and it shall be lawful for the Board to erase any epitaph or other inscription so placed without its permission, or, at its option, to remove the monument or other structure upon which such epitaph or inscription has been placed.

It shall not be lawful for any person to take a dog into the cemetery; or to take any horse or vehicle into the cemetery without the consent of the Board or the officer in charge of the cemetery.
Any person committing a breach of By-law No. 9 shall be liable to a penalty of not exceeding £10.
