THE following special order, made by the Taranaki County Council, is published for general information.

Special Order made by the Council of the County of Taranaki dissolving the Carrington, Elliot, and Frankley Road Boards, and merging the said Areas into the County of Taranaki.
IN pursuance of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Counties Act, 1886,” the Council of the County of Taranaki, to accede to the prayer of the petitioners of the Carrington, Elliot, and Frankley Road Districts, hereby resolves as follows: That the Carrington, Elliot, and Frankley Road Boards be dissolved, and the areas of the said road districts be merged into the County of Taranaki, as from the 31st March, 1909.
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Taranaki was affixed hereto by the Chairman, Joseph Brown, duly authorised by resolution of the Council, on the 7th day of September, 1908, in the presence of—

Special Order making Special Rate.
RESOLVED, That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1908,” the Spreydon Road Board hereby resolves, by way of special order, as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest at a rate not exceeding 4½ per cent. per annum and other charges on a loan of £20,000, authorised to be raised by the Spreydon Road Board, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” for the purpose of asphalting, channelling, and regrading the roads and footpaths in the special area (hereinafter described) of the Spreydon Road District, the said Spreydon Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2¾d. in the pound upon all the rateable value of all rateable property of the special-rating area, comprising Blocks 14 and 15, situated in the Christchurch Survey District, and being Rural Sections Nos. 154 and 98 and part of Rural Section 76, in the Canterbury Land District, commencing at the junction of
