EKETAHUNA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.
THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” the Eketahuna Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £120 sterling, authorised to be raised by the Eketahuna Borough Council, under above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of the completion of the road-improvements in the Jones Estate Special-rating Area, in the Borough of Eketahuna, being a further loan of 10 per centum on the original loan of £1,200 sterling authorised for the said purpose, the said Eketahuna Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Jones Estate Special-rating Area; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off; the cost of raising the loan and interest for the first year to be paid out of the loan.
The common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Eketahuna was affixed hereto in pursuance of a resolution of the said Council passed on the 19th day of August, 1909, in the presence of—

SELWYN COUNTY COUNCIL.
Notice pursuant to “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” and the Acts amending the same.
I HEREBY give notice that on the 24th day of August, 1909, a proposal was submitted by the Council of the County of Selwyn to the ratepayers of the Sandy Knolls Subdivision of the Malvern Water-supply District for raising a special loan of £2,100 for the purpose of constructing a water-race in the said district, and towards the payment of the first year’s interest on the said loan and the cost of raising the same, and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For, 69; against, 7.
And I declare the said proposal to be carried.

THE following notice, received from the Morrinsville Town Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

MORRINSVILLE TOWN BOARD.
PROPOSAL to raise a special loan of £300 for improvements to the roads and streets within the Morrinsville Town District, and to make an annually recurring special rate of ½d. in the pound on the unimproved value of all rateable property in the said town district as security for the interest and sinking fund in connection with such loan. The interest to be paid on the said loan is at the rate of 4 per cent. per annum, and the loan is for a period of thirty-two years from the raising of the loan, at the expiration of which period the liability of the Morrinsville Town Board will cease without further payment. It is not proposed to pay out of the loan-money the costs of raising the loan or the first year’s interest on the loan.
At a poll of the ratepayers of the Morrinsville Town District taken on the above proposal on the 25th day of August, 1909, the votes recorded were as follows: For the proposal, 19; against the proposal, 1.
I, Stephen Shepherd Allen, Chairman of the Morrinsville Town Board, hereby declare the above proposal carried.

Result of Loan Poll.
In the matter of “The Town Boards Act, 1908,” and of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” and the Acts amending the same respectively.
I HEREBY give notice that on the 16th day of August, 1909, a proposal was submitted by the Warkworth Town Board to the ratepayers of the Warkworth Town District for raising a special loan of £1,200 for forming and metalling the streets, as specified by advertisement in the Rodney and Otamatea Times, and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For, 51; against, 7.
And I declare the proposal to be carried.

KRISHNA SHOAL LT.-v.—This lt.-v., exh. a gp. fl. white lt. every 30 secs., is replaced on her station (15° 37½′ N., 95° 36½′ E.), and the temp. lt.-v. withdrawn. July.
EASTERN ARCHIPELAGO, ETC.
BANKA STRAIT.—PROHIBITED ANCHORAGE.—In order to avoid damage to the tel. cables, anchorage is prohibited within the following area srd. of Tanjong Kalian (2° 4½′ S., 105° 8¼′ E.), Muntok Road: On the E., by a meridian drawn 2¾ cables to the erd. of Tanjong Kalian lt. On the W., by a meridian 10⅞ cables wrd. of the lt. On the N.W., by a line S. 54° W. from the lt. On the S.E., by a line parallel to the last-mentioned limit and 4½ cables from it. July.
MASUJI RIVER.—The following amended details have been received with regard to the shoal recently reported off the mouth of the river: The shoal consists of hard sand, 2¾ miles long N.W. and S.E., and about 1 mile wide, carries 1¾ fms., and its centre lies in 4° 3′ S., 105° 58¾′ E. July.
