ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this eighteenth
day of August, 1909.

THE HONOURABLE GEORGE FOWLDS PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section nine of “The Mining Act,
1908,” it is enacted that the Governor may from
time to time, by Order in Council, appoint fit persons to be
Wardens, who shall hold office during the Governor’s
pleasure:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the power and authority conferred by the said section nine
of “The Mining Act, 1908,” and acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth hereby appoint
ALFRED CROOKE, Esq.,
to be a Warden, to hold and exercise the duties of such
office under and subject to the provisions of the said Act
during pleasure, on and from the first day of September,
one thousand nine hundred and nine.

Opening Land in Auckland Land District for Sale or
Selection.
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” I,
William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion
of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-
S-cretary in this behalf, as provided in section one hun-
dred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that
the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open
for sale or selection on Wednesday, the twenty-seventh day
of October, one thousand nine hundred and nine; and also
that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at
the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be
selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renew-
able lease; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the
said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in
the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land
shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the
provisions of “The Land Act, 1908.”

Altitude, from 500 ft. to 650 ft. above sea-level. Undulating
land, level on ridges; mostly open land overrun by bush-
fires some years ago; sufficient dry kauri and totara for

in quality, on sandstone formation; watered by streams. Situated about ten miles from Hikurangi Railway-
station by formed road and three miles from Sandy Bay.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-fifth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and nine.
