A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section one hundred and thirty-three of “The Public Works Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as closed the road described in the Schedule hereto.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by “The Prisons Act, 1908,” it is enacted that the Governor may, by Proclamation, declare that such police-stations as he shall name therein shall be police-gaols :
And whereas it is desirable to proclaim the police-station at Hokitika, situated on the main road between Hokitika and Kumara, and hitherto known as the Hokitika Prison, to be a police-gaol :
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by the said Act, and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the gazetting of this Proclamation, the police-station situated at Hokitika, on the main road between Hokitika and Kumara, and hitherto known as the Hokitika Prison, shall be a police-gaol.

WHEREAS by “The Prisons Act, 1908,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, by Proclamation, declare that any prison shall no longer be a prison, and upon the gazetting of such Proclamation, or from and after any later date fixed therein, such prison shall cease to be a prison :
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by the said Act, and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the gazetting of this Proclamation, the prison at Hokitika shall cease to be a prison.

Altering the Boundaries of Cook and Waikohu Counties.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-third day of August, 1909.
Present :
THE HONOURABLE J. A. MILLAR PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, in exercise of the powers conferred by section sixteen of “The Counties Act, 1908” (hereinafter termed “the said Act), the Cook County Council and the Waikohu County Council respectively did, by an instrument bearing date the sixteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and nine, formally agree that the boundaries of the said counties should be altered to the extent set forth in the said instrument, and also in the Schedule hereto : And whereas it is expedient that such alteration of boundaries be approved by the Governor in Council, and that such altered boundaries be defined in terms of the said Act :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the power and authority conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that, on and after the publication of these presents in the New Zealand Gazette, the boundaries of the Counties of Cook and Waikohu respectively shall be those set forth under their respective headings in the Schedule hereto.
