APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.
To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Roxburgh.
Pursuant to "The Mining Act, 1908," the undersigned, Albert John Manuell and William James Manuell, both of Coal Creek, Miners, hereby apply for a license for a water-race as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.
Dates and numbers of miners' rights: 27th May, 1909; No. 74749. 27th May, 1909; No. 74748.
Address for service: Care of Robert Cockburn, Mining Agent, Roxburgh.
Dated at Roxburgh, this 22nd day of July, 1909.

Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal points: Starting at a point in a creek about 4 chains from the south-east corner of Section 6, Block IX, Teviot Survey District, thence 2 chains in an easterly direction to Section 5, thence across the corner of said Section 5 2 chains, thence across road-line 1 chain, and terminating in Section 49, Block II, of the said Teviot Survey District.

Length and intended course of race: 5 chains; easterly.
Points of intake: One.
Estimated time and cost of construction: Three months; £20.
Mean depth and breadth: 2 in. iron piping 12 in. below the surface of the ground.
Number of heads to be diverted: 4 in.
Purpose for which water is to be used: Domestic and irrigation.
Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.
