Borough of Whangarei.

In the matter of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,”
“The Local Elections and Polls Act, 1908,” and “The
Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” and Acts amending
the same.

PURSUANT of section 13 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1908,” public notice is hereby given that the proposal of the
Borough of Whangarei was taken on the 3rd day of August,
1909, for the purpose of the Council raising, by way of a
borrow the sum of £17,000 (of which amount it is pro
posed to raise £10,000 for the water and £7,000 for the
drainage), such moneys to be for the purpose of construct
ing drainage-works for the Borough of Whangarei ac
cording to the plans, specifications, and estimate of the
Council on the 26th February, 1909, and to make an annually
recurring special rate of 2¼d. in the pound of the rateable
value of all rateable property in the said borough as security
for the said loan and the interest thereon, the whole of the
principal and interest due under the said loan, or such propor
tion of forty-one years from the raising of the loan, and the
interest accruing due in the forty-first year from the raising of
and to pay out of the loan-money the cost of raising the
loan, the first year’s interest on such loan, and the prelimi
nary expenses incurred in connection with the loan, &c.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 365.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 85.
Informal votes, 2.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency
the Governor, that the land described in the Schedule
under the authority of section 28 of “The Public Works Act,
1908,” has been taken for road purposes, and has become a
duly taken and laid off for road purposes in the block of
land mentioned in the said Schedule, within the Land Dis
trict of the Governor of the said Dominion, by Warrant dated
the 13th day of April, 1909.

NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency
the Governor, that the road described in the Schedule
has been taken under the authority of “The Native Lands Act,
1909, and that the road described in the Schedule hereto
has been taken for road purposes, and has become a duly
taken and laid off for road purposes in the block of land
mentioned in the said Schedule, within the Land District of the Governor of the
said Dominion, by Warrant dated the 13th day of March,
1907.
