Opening National Endowment Land in Auckland Land District for Selection.
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the national endowment land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Wednesday, the twenty-ninth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and nine, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.

Altitude, from 300 ft. to 600 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to broken land; about 90 acres mixed forest, partly burnt; balance fern and scrub. Forest comprises totara, towai, taraire, manuka, birch, and a few rimu-trees and kauri rickers, with undergrowth of kiekie and supplejack; soil loam and clay, fair to inferior in quality, on sandstone formation; well watered by springs. Situated about three miles from Hikurangi Railway-station—two miles and a half dray-road, half-mile bridle-track.

About 23 acres on Section 42 and about 15 acres on Section 43 hilly land; clay soil; balance of sections swamp land, fair to medium peat soil, mostly covered with high raupo, wiwi, and short, scattered flax; 5 acres good flax on Section 41, and about 30 acres good to medium flax on Section 43. Distant three to four miles from Waiotu Railway-station, and five to six miles from Hukerenui Township by road, mostly formed; balance to be constructed shortly.

wiwi. Situated three to four miles from Waiotu Railway-station, and five to six miles from Hukerenui Railway-station by road already formed or to be constructed shortly.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” and “The Land for Settlements Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Wednesday, the twenty-ninth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and nine, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the two-hundred-and-twenty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
THOMAS NOEL BRODRICK,
WILLIAM EDWARD AKROYD, and
GEORGE WRIGHT
Commissioners to classify and report to me upon the rural lands in Hawke’s Bay Land District known as Runs Nos. 47 and 48, as provided by section two hundred and twenty-five of “The Land Act, 1908.”
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this seventh day of August, one thousand nine hundred and nine.
