Land temporarily reserved for the Use of the Railway Department as a Site for a Jetty in the Otago Land District.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of “The Land Act, 1908,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Otago Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the use of the Railway Department as a site for a jetty.

SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 14 perches, more or less, being Section No. 76, Block XX, Shotover Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by part of Section No. 1, Block XVII, and the abutment of Hay Street, Town of Queenstown, a distance of 200 links; towards the north-east by a line bearing 145° 32', a distance of 170 links; towards the south-east by a line bearing 55° 32', a distance of 200 links; and towards the south-west by a line bearing 325° 32', a distance of 170 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 50133/43A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-sixth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and nine.

Trustees for Te Arai Public Cemetery appointed.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the fourth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

GEORGE SMITH

to be Trustees, in the place of William Bleckly Farrand, Frank Shannon, and John Brown, who have resigned, to provide for the maintenance and care of Te Arai Public Cemetery, in conjunction with Joseph Benton, George Jennings, and John Barkly, previously appointed by His Excellency the Governor.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-third day of January, one thousand nine hundred and nine.

Exempting Land from the Operation of Part II of “The Coal-mines Act, 1908.”

PLUNKET, Governor.

PURSUANT to the provisions of Part II of “The Coal-mines Act, 1908,” and in exercise of the powers thereby conferred, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the land described in the Schedule is hereby exempted from the operation of Part II of the said Act, and I do hereby direct that the said land shall be disposed of under the provisions of section three hundred and twenty-one, (a), (v), of “The Land Act, 1908,” relating to recreation reserves.

SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Westland Land District, containing by admeasurement 19 acres 3 roods 16 perches, more or less, being Reserve No. 361, Block XXXIX, Runanga Township, situated in Block III, Cobden Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Millar Street, 1067 links; towards the east by right lines bounding the Railway Reserve, 193·6, 911·7, 569·5, and 776·2 links respectively; towards the south-west by Greymouth Road, 684·1, 367·7, and 1714·2 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1155/3, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-third day of January, one thousand nine hundred and nine.

Warrant vesting Control of the Puniho Road in the Werekino Road Board, and apportioning the Cost of Maintenance of the same.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and fifty-seven of “The Counties Act, 1908” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is provided that where a road lies along the boundary of two counties, and such road is entirely in one of such counties, or if such road lies partly in one county and partly in the other, or is not included partly in one or the other, then and in any such case such road shall be under the control of such one of the counties, or of such local authority or local authorities, within either of such counties as the Governor from time to time directs; and in any case mentioned in the said section the Governor may direct what proportionate part of the cost of constructing and maintaining such road shall be borne by such county or local authority, and any such proportionate part may be received by the County Council or local authority having charge of such road from the county or districts liable to pay the same:

And whereas the road known as the Puniho Road, described in the Schedule hereto, and hereinafter termed “the said road,” forms part of the boundary between the Counties of Egmont and Taranaki, as well as being the boundary between the Road Districts of Werekino and Parihaka:
