Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-third day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and nine.

First Meeting of Hutt Valley Tramway Board.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by a Proclamation made under “The Hutt Valley Tramway District Act, 1908,” dated the second day of December, one thousand nine hundred and eight, the first meeting of the members of the Board of the Hutt Valley Tramway District was appointed to be held on Tuesday, the second day of February, one thousand nine hundred and nine: And whereas it is expedient that the said meeting should be held on the date hereinafter mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the power vested in me by the said Act, do hereby appoint Tuesday, the sixteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and nine, at eight o'clock in the afternoon, to be the time at which the first meeting of the members of the Hutt Valley Tramway Board shall be held.

New County of Waikohu divided into Ridings, &c.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Counties Act, 1908,” and the Waikohu County Act, 1908, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby divide the new County of Waikohu, as constituted by the said Acts, into six ridings, to be called the Motu Riding, the Kanakanaia Riding, the Karaka Riding, the Ngatapa Riding, the Mangatu Riding, and the Waipaoa Riding, and declare that the boundaries thereof shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto.

And I do hereby declare that one member shall be elected for each of the aforesaid ridings. And I do further declare that Wednesday, the twenty-fourth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and nine, shall be the day upon which the election of the first Council of the said County of Waikohu shall take place, and that Wednesday, the third day of March, one thousand nine hundred and nine, at noon, shall be the time, and the Waikohu Road Board Office, Te Karaka, shall be the place, at which the first meeting of the said Council shall be held.


SCHEDULE.

MOTU RIDING.

ALL that area in the Waikohu County bounded as follows: Commencing at the junction of the Kaitawa Stream and the Motu River, in Block III, Motu Survey District; thence south-westerly by the south-eastern boundary of Opotiki County to the Koranga Stream; thence south-
