Captain (Pay- and Quarter-master) WILLIAM HALL, 2nd Battalion, Otago Rifle Volunteers,

and to approve that he be posted to the Retired List, with rank of Captain, and with effect from 11th June, 1909.

Services of Rifle Cadet Corps accepted.

Award of the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers’ Decoration.

Notice respecting Proposed Borough of Clyde, County of Wairoa.

Office of the Minister of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 10th July, 1909.

PURSUANT to section 117 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that a petition has been presented to him praying for the constitution of the area described in the Schedule hereto as a borough under the said Act, to be named the Borough of Clyde. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to, or petitions against, the constitution of the said borough which they may desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.


SCHEDULE.

DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF PROPOSED BOROUGH OF CLYDE.

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, situated in Clyde Survey District, bounded towards the north by the Waioma-Raenui Stream, from the easternmost corner of Waioma-Raenui Block to the confluence of the said stream with the Awatere Stream; thence by the said Awatere Stream to the north-western corner of Awatere Block; thence towards the north-east by Awatere Block to the road to Nuhaka, across that road, and again by Awatere Block to the Wairoa River; thence towards the east by a right line running due south across the said Wairoa River; thence again towards the north and towards the south-east by the right bank of the Wairoa River to the stream which forms the western boundaries of Sections Nos. 847 and 845, Town of Clyde; thence towards the west by that stream to the southernmost corner of Section No. 42; thence towards the south-west generally by Sections Nos. 17, 14, and 1, Block V, Clyde Survey District, and the production of the north-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section to the Wairoa River; thence towards the north-west by the Wairoa River to the north-eastern corner of Te Koutu Block; thence towards the west generally by a right line across the Wairoa River to the eastern boundary of the Taumataoteo Block; thence by that block to the Ruataniwha Road; thence across that road, again by the last-mentioned block and the Waioma-Raenui Block to the Waioma-Raenui Stream, the place of commencement.

Authorising the Laying-off of Royal Street, in the Town of Upper Hutt Extension No. 5, of a Width of not less than 66 ft.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 15 of “The Land Act, 1908,” I, David Buddo, Acting Minister of Lands, do hereby authorise the laying-off of Royal Street, in the Town of Upper Hutt Extension No. 5, Wellington Land District, of a width of not less than 66ft., instead of 99 ft.
