Crown Land in the Cobden Survey District set apart for a Rifle Range.

PLUNKET, Governor.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the twenty-first section of “The Public Works Act, 1908,” it is enacted that where any Crown land is required to be set apart for any public work the Governor may at any time, by Proclamation, set the same apart for such public work without complying with any of the provisions of the said Act in respect to the taking or setting-apart of other lands for such purpose:

And whereas it is deemed desirable that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto, being a portion of Crown land, should be set apart as a rifle range:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section twenty-one of “The Public Works Act, 1908,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for the purposes above mentioned.

SCHEDULE.

THE parcels of land mentioned in list hereunder:—

All in the Westland Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 23792, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and nine.

Land set apart for Settlement.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section seventy-five of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” it is, amongst other things, enacted that before any moneys as therein mentioned are expended upon any block of land it shall be necessary that the said block be proclaimed as set apart for settlement: And whereas by section two hundred and sixty-eight of “The Land Act, 1908,” it is enacted that the Minister of Finance may from time to time, in accordance with sections seventy-five to seventy-seven of the first-mentioned Act, issue and apply moneys as therein mentioned for the purposes therein set forth in connection with national endowment land: And whereas the block of land described in the Schedule hereto is partly national endowment land and partly Crown land:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power conferred on me by the above-mentioned Acts, and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the purposes of the said Acts, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the land described in the Schedule hereto as set apart for settlement.

Crown Land temporarily reserved for Landless Natives in the Marlborough Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the third section of “The South Island Landless Natives Act, 1906,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, by Proclamation, declare that any Crown land shall, whether the same has been surveyed or not, be set aside temporarily for the purpose of providing land for landless Natives in the South Island, and that notice of all such temporary reservation shall be published in the Kahiti:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the Crown land in the Marlborough Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written is hereby set aside temporarily for the purpose of providing land for landless Natives in the South Island.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Marlborough Land District, containing by admeasurement 360 acres, more or less, being Section No. 31, Block VI, Gore Survey District.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and nine.
