I, PATRICK FRASER HOWDEN, Licentiate in Medicine and Surgery of the Society of Apothecaries, London, 1905, and now residing in Palmerston, Otago, do hereby give notice that I intend to apply on the 22nd day of May, 1909, to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand, and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification at the office of the Registrar of Births, Deaths, and Marriages.

ETTRICK STREET EXTENSION.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of South Invercargill propose to take Section A on the subdivision of part of Section 15, Block I, Invercargill Hundred, known as Trafalgar Township, Deposited Plan No. 46, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 84, folio 37, Southland Registry, containing 1 rood, more or less, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1908,” for the purposes of a public street, a plan of which said land is open for inspection at the house of the Town Clerk of the said borough, Mr. A. Ball, in Oteramika Road, Georgetown, in the said district. And notice is further given that all persons affected thereby are requested to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said works or to the taking of the said lands, and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the said Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of South Invercargill, addressed to them at the Council Chambers, Elles Road, South Invercargill.

SPECIAL ORDER MADE BY THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF ONSLOW.

THE following special order, made by the Onslow Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908”:

Onslow Borough Council.

Special Order increasing the Number of Councillors on Redivision of the Borough.

Resolved (by way of special order), That the total number of members of the Onslow Borough Council be altered to nine, and that there be three members for each of the three wards of the borough.

The common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Onslow was hereto affixed in the presence of—

In the matter of “The Companies Act, 1908,” and the New Plymouth Petroleum Company (Limited).

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders, duly convened, and legally constituted, held in the registered office of the company, Exchange Court, Princes Street, Dunedin, on Monday, the 3rd day of May, 1909, the following extraordinary resolution was passed:—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the company that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and that a Liquidator be appointed for the purpose of such winding-up, and that the company be wound up accordingly.”

Also that Messrs. ROBERT CRAWFORD, of Roslyn, Gentleman, and EDWARD TRYTHALL, of Dunedin, Accountant, were appointed Liquidators for the purpose of winding up the affairs of the company.

AT St. Andrew’s Hall, Stratford, on the 27th day of March, 1909, a general meeting of the Co-operative Sawmilling Company of Taranaki (Limited) was held, when the following resolution was passed:—

“That this company be wound up voluntarily,” and that JOHN IRVINE be appointed Liquidator, at a remuneration of ten guineas.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership which has for some time past been carried on by RONALD VOLCKMAN and THOMAS ARTHUR WILL, under the firm-name of “Volckman and Will,” at Rangiora, in the trade or business of Surgeons and Medical Practitioners, was this day dissolved by mutual consent.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto existing between JOSEPH POULTER LEARY and THOMAS PATERSON HENDERSON, trading as “J. P. Leary and Co.,” at Palmerston North, as Importers, has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 1st day of April, 1909. The business will in future be carried on by the said J. P. Leary alone, under the style of “J. P. Leary and Co.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership existing between us in the business of Paperhangers and Decorators, carried on by us at Hamilton, is dissolved by mutual consent as from this date. The business will be carried on by Charles Chapman at the premises occupied by the firm in Victoria Street, Hamilton. All moneys owing to the firm are to be paid to the said Charles Chapman, who will discharge all liabilities.

In the matter of “The Companies Act, 1908,” and the amendments thereof, and of the Waimate Public Hall Company (Limited).

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-mentioned company by the Supreme Court was, on the 30th day of March, 1909, presented to Mr. Justice Denniston, a Judge of the Supreme Court, by Arthur James Manchester, of Waimate, Accountant, a contributory of the said company, and the said petition is directed to be heard before a Judge of the said Court, at Christchurch, on the 27th day of May, 1909, at the hour of 11 o’clock; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to oppose the making of an order for the winding-up of the said company under the above Act should appear at the time of hearing, by himself or his counsel, for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same, by the undersigned, on payment of the regulated charge for the same.
