of the Lower Normanby Road, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property within the Lower Normanby Road Special-rating District, comprising Sections 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52, Block VI, Waimate Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until such loan is fully paid off. The interest to be paid is at the rate of 3½ per cent. per annum. The cost of raising the loan is to be paid out of the loan.
The above special order was passed at a special meeting of the above Council held on the 14th day of January, 1909, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting held on the 11th day of February, 1909.

THE following special order, made by the Port Chalmers Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

BOROUGH OF PORT CHALMERS.
Special Order raising Loan.
(a.) THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” the Council of the Borough of Port Chalmers hereby resolves to raise by way of loan, under the said “Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” the sum of £3,500 for the purpose of paying off the loan of £3,500 known as “The Municipal Buildings Loan,” and maturing on the 1st day of July, 1909, and that the said loan of £3,500 shall be for a period of thirty-three years, and that the yearly interest thereon be 4½ per centum per annum; and that a sinking fund of 1 per centum per annum on the amount of the said loan be established for the repayment of the said loan; and that the security to be pledged for such loan be the rents and profits from section numbered 407, part of section numbered 406, and part of section numbered 169, Town of Port Chalmers, and from any portion of the Municipal Buildings, and a special annual-recurring rate of 3½d. in the pound on the rateable value of all the rateable property of the Borough of Port Chalmers.

(b.) That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund and other charges on a loan of £3,500, authorised to be raised by the Council of the Borough of Port Chalmers, under the above-mentioned Act, for paying off the whole of the loan of £3,500 heretofore lawfully raised and falling due on the 1st day of July, 1909, the said Council of the Borough of Port Chalmers hereby makes and levies a special rate of 3½d. in the pound upon the rateable property of the Borough of Port Chalmers; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-three years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The foregoing resolutions were proposed and passed by way of special order at a special meeting of the Council of the Borough of Port Chalmers called for that purpose and held on the 12th day of March, 1909, and after being duly advertised were confirmed at a special meeting of the Council held on the 14th day of April, 1909.

THE following special order, made by the Waipawa Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” in substitution for that already gazetted on page 982 of the New Zealand Gazette, 1909.

WAIPAWA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” the Waipawa Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,300, authorised to be raised by the Waipawa Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for deepening the Waipawa Bush drain from its commencement near the railway-station to its present terminus, and extending the said drain from its present terminus to connect with the Waipawa River (the said extension being about 40 chains in length), the said Waipawa Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/10d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Waipawa (the boundaries of the said borough being described in Schedule to “The Waipawa Borough Act, 1907”); and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off. The rate of interest to be £3 10s. per centum per annum.
The above resolution was passed as a special order at a special meeting of the Waipawa Borough Council held Thursday, the 18th day of February, 1909, and confirmed at a special meeting held Monday, the 22nd day of March, 1909.

BOROUGH OF AKAROA.
Special Order making Special Rate.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” the Akaroa Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £800, authorised to be raised by the Akaroa Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of making and constructing public baths, the said Akaroa Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/5d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property comprising the Borough of Akaroa; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 31st day of March and the 30th day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The above resolution was passed as a special order at a special meeting of the Akaroa Borough Council held on Wednesday, the 3rd day of March, 1909, and confirmed at an ordinary meeting of the Council held on the 14th day of April, 1909.
