Special Order made by the Council of the Borough of Wanganui.

THE following special order, made by the Wanganui Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908."

BOROUGH OF WANGANUI.

Special Order making Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908," the Wanganui Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £12,000, authorised to be raised by the Wanganui Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, and the amendments thereof, for the following purposes—namely, the extending and enlarging of the borough gasworks by providing and fixing of (1) new retort-settings (additional); (2) new purifiers; (3) station meter; (4) booster and engine complete; (5) washing-scrubber; (6) mains, service-pipes, and meters in the borough, and also mains, service-pipes, and meters for the purpose of supplying gas to the Borough of Wanganui East and to the Town of Gonville—the said Wanganui Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 3d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Wanganui Borough, comprising the whole of the said borough; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 8th day of June and the 8th day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The above special order was passed at a special meeting of the Council held on the 23rd day of February, 1909, and confirmed at a special meeting held on the 23rd day of March, 1909.

The common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Wanganui was affixed to the above special order by order of the Council and by and in the presence of—

Special Order made by the Council of the County of Whangamomona.

THE following special order, made by the Whangamomona County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908."

WHANGAMOMONA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Special Order making Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908," the Whangamomona County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,500, authorised to be raised by the Whangamomona County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for felling, forming to dray-road width, bridging (exclusive of the Mangaehu Bridge), and culverting the Mangaehu Road from the end of the present dray-road formation in a continuously easterly direction towards the Kohi Road junction for as far as the money will allow of, the said Whangamomona County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all the rateable property of the Upper Mangaehu No. 1 Special-rating Area, comprising Section 9, Block X, Mahoe Survey District; Sections 9, 8, and 1, Block XIV, Mahoe Survey District; part Subs. 15 (300 acres) and 16 (500 acres), Block XII, Ngatimaru Survey District; part Subs. 1a (500 acres) and 2 (3,000 acres), Block XIII, Mahoe Survey District; part Sub. 13 (500 acres) and Sub. 1c, Block XVI, Ngatimaru Survey District; Sub. 17, Block IX, Mahoe Survey District; and Section 10, Block X, Mahoe Survey District: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The above special order was instituted at a special meeting of the Council held on the 25th day of November, 1908, and was confirmed at a meeting of the Council held on the 18th day of January, 1909, in accordance with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908," and "The Counties Act, 1908."

Copy of Special Order, Lower Normanby Road Loan, £370.

It was proposed by T. A. Bridge, seconded by T. McPhillips, and carried,—

That the prayer of the petition of the ratepayers of the Lower Normanby Road be granted, and the Waimate West County Council hereby authorises the raising of a loan of £370 for the purpose of metalling part of the unmetalled portion of the Lower Normanby Road within that portion of the Waimate West County formerly known as the Southern Subdivision of the Waimate Road District; and that, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908," and its amendments, and "The Counties Act, 1908," the Waimate West County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £370, authorised to be raised by the Waimate West County Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of metalling part of the unmetalled portion
