  1. The quantities stated are standing measurements.

  2. Should any dispute arise as to boundaries, the decision of the Commissioner of Crown Lands shall be final.

  3. In the event of the above lot not being disposed of, applications may be received and dealt with at any time within six months from the above date of closing of tenders (unless previously formally withdrawn), provided, however, that the amount offered is not less than the upset price stated herein.

  4. All tenders must be submitted on forms which will be supplied on application to the Postmasters, Dargaville and Kaihu, or the above office, and envelopes enclosing same are to be marked “Tender for Timber,” and addressed to the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Auckland.

  5. The highest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

TERMS.

Tenders must be accompanied by a deposit of 5 per cent. on the amount of tender, in cash, marked cheque, or post-office order; the balance to be paid, if tender accepted, within fourteen days after date of acceptance, together with the timber-cutting license fee of £1 1s.

Pastoral Runs in Hawke’s Bay Land District for License by Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned pastoral runs will be offered for license by public auction, at this office, at 11 o’clock a.m., on Friday, the 26th day of February, 1909, under the provisions of “The Land Act, 1908.”

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.

This run is situated about forty-eight miles from Napier. The main Napier-Taupo Road traverses its entire length from south to north. The soil generally is of a light pumice character, and the country for the most part open, with patches of native grass and small areas of bush. Well watered by the Waipuinga River and other small streams.

WAIROA COUNTY.—MOHAKA SURVEY DISTRICT.

Undulating and hilly pastoral country; light pumice soil, overlying calcareous marl or papa formation. Originally open country, in native grass and scrub, with patches of bush in gullies. Altitude, from about 500 ft. to 1,300 ft. above sea-level. Situated about nine miles and a half from Mohaka Township, and about one mile from main Napier-Wairoa Road. Well watered by streams.

Situated about two miles and a half from Waikare Hotel and nine miles from Mohaka Township. The main Napier-Wairoa Road forms a portion of the boundary of the run on the east. Originally open country, in fern and scrub, with a little bush in gullies and patches of native grass on the higher portions. Altitude, from about 600 ft. to 1,250 ft. above sea-level. Soil light pumice overlying clay-and-papa formation. Well watered by streams.
