a special rate of 3d. in the pound sterling upon the rateable value of all rateable properties in the said town district, comprising all that area described in Proclamation dated the 25th day of March, 1905, published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 30th day of March, 1905; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of nineteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Made and passed by the Martinborough Town Board, this 25th day of February, 1909.

The resolution to make this special rate was passed at a special meeting of the Martinborough Town Board held at the Board’s Office, Martinborough, on Monday, the 25th day of January, 1909, and was confirmed as a special order at a subsequent meeting of the said Board held at the same place on Thursday, the 25th day of February, 1909.

RANGIORA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Result of Poll on Proposed Loan of £10,000.

NOTICE is hereby given that the poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Rangiora (including all persons entitled to vote on proposals to raise loans) was taken in the Borough Council Chambers, Perceval Street, Rangiora, on Thursday, the 4th day of March, 1909, upon the following proposal—namely, to borrow, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” and its amendments, the sum of £10,000 for the purpose of constructing, providing, establishing, and equipping waterworks for collecting, conveying, and supplying water for and to the Borough of Rangiora for fire-prevention purposes, for watering the roads, streets, and public places of the Borough of Rangiora, and for the use of the Council, and for sale to consumers, and the doing of all things necessary or incidental to such undertaking; and at such poll the number of votes recorded for and against the proposal was: For the proposal, 99; against the proposal, 85; informal, 7.

I therefore declare the said proposal to be duly carried.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Woolston, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

In the matter of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” “The Local Elections and Polls Act, 1908,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

We hereby give notice that on the 8th day of March, 1909, a proposal was submitted by the Woolston Borough Council to the ratepayers of the borough for raising a special loan of £750 for the purpose of acquiring, improving, and laying out as a recreation-ground the land in the borough comprised in certificate of title, Volume 243, folio 161, and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For the proposal, 227; against the proposal, 46.

And we declare the said proposal to be carried.

Dated at Woolston, this 9th day of March, 1909.

Notice to Imprestees under “The Public Revenues Act, 1908.”

EVERY officer holding advances of public money is hereby required to pay to the Public Account, at the nearest branch of the Bank of New Zealand, the unexpended balance of his account on or before Wednesday, the 31st March proximo, and forthwith to transmit to the Treasury at Wellington the bank receipt for such repayment, together with an account of his expenditure to the same date, as required by clause 4 of the Treasury Regulations.

As respects disbursements which officers may require to make immediately after the close of the financial year, requisitions for the amount required are to be made in such time as to enable them to reach Wellington not later than the 15th March, so that the requisite funds may be placed at the disposal of the officer as soon after the 1st April as possible.
