right line to and by the northern boundary of the said Allotment No. 19, and by Allotment No. 20, across a line, and by Allotment No. 72 of the said Aparima Estate; and thence towards the west generally by Allotment No. 71, Aparima Estate, Sections Nos. 2 and 11, Block II, Aparima Hundred, and the eastern boundary-line of the last-named section produced across the Otatau River; and thence by the Otatau River to Section No. 14, Block II, Aparima Hundred: as the same is delineated on the plans in the Survey Office, Invercargill: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of October and the 1st day of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The above is a true copy of a resolution adopted at a special meeting of the Otatau Town Board held on Tuesday, the 26th January, 1909, and confirmed at a special meeting of the Board held on Monday, the 1st March, 1909, at 7.30 p.m.

THE following special order, made by the Temuka Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

BOROUGH OF TEMUKA.

Special Order to raise a Loan and make a Special Rate.

In the matter of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” and in the matter of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” and the Acts amending the same; and in the matter of a proposal to raise a special loan for the purpose of constructing sewers and house-drains in that portion of the borough lying between Ewen Road and Cass Street.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” the Council of the Borough of Temuka hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,800, authorised to be raised by the Council of the Borough of Temuka, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of constructing sewers and house-drains in that portion of the borough lying between Ewen Road and Cass Street, the said Council of the Borough of Temuka hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1⁵⁄₈d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the special-rating area comprised within the following boundaries—that is to say, commencing on Cass Street at the western boundary of Section 355; thence southerly along the western boundaries of Sections 355, 354, 353, 352, 351, 350, 349, 348, 347, 346, 345, 344, 343, 342, 341, 340, to the southern side of Ewen Road; thence easterly along Ewen Road to the western side of Railway Terrace; thence southerly along Railway Terrace to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 95; thence easterly along the southern boundary of Section 95 to the western boundary of the railway-line; thence northerly along the railway-line to Cass Street; thence westerly along the said street to the starting-point: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Temuka was hereunto affixed in the presence of Thomas Buxton, Mayor, and Edward Cutten, Town Clerk, respectively, this 10th day of February, 1909.

THE following special order, made by the Christchurch City Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL.

Special Order making Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest (at a rate not exceeding £4 10s. per centum per annum) and other charges on a loan of £3,500, authorised to be raised by the Christchurch City Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the construction of waterworks for the supply of pure water for the use and benefit of the inhabitants of Beckenham-Fisherton Waterworks Loan Special-rating Area, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1⁹⁄₄d. in the pound upon the rateable value (being the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the said Beckenham-Fisherton Waterworks Loan Special-rating Area, comprising the lands described in the Schedule to this resolution; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-two years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

SCHEDULE REFERRED TO ABOVE.

The boundaries commence at the junction of Tennyson Street and Colombo Street; thence southerly along Colombo Street to the River Heathcote; thence along the River Heathcote to the north-eastern corner of Rural Section 49; thence westerly along Tennyson Street to the starting-point; and comprise Rural Sections 21 and 49, Block XV, Christchurch Survey District.

The common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Christchurch was hereto affixed in the presence of—
