Directing the Sale of Land under “The Public Works Act, 1908.”
PLUNKET, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of March, 1909.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the thirtieth section of “The Public Works Act, 1908” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that if it is found that any land held, taken, purchased, or acquired at any time under this or any other Act or Provincial Ordinance, or otherwise howsoever, for any public work is not required for such public work, the Governor may, by Order in Council publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold under the conditions set forth in the said Act:
And whereas a memorial has been laid before the Governor by the Wellington City Council (hereinafter called “the said Council”), accompanied by a map, setting forth that certain land was held for the purpose of a site for a fire-brigade station: And whereas the said land as described in the Schedule hereto is not now required by the said Council for the purposes aforesaid, and the said Council desires to sell the same:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the powers and authority conferred upon him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby direct the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto.

Excepting Land from the Operation of Section 117 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894.”

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section four of “The Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1895,” it is enacted that the Governor may, by Order in Council, except from the operation of section one hundred and seventeen of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894” (hereinafter called “the said Act”), for a limited period or otherwise, and either generally or for such purposes and subject to such restrictions as shall be in such Order specified, any land, wheresoever situate, which is for the time being subject to the operation of the said section, or any interest therein or right over the same, or may in like manner make such exception in favour exclusively of any lessee or other person who has been bona fide in occupation of and has made improvements on such land, or has paid money to Native owners for lease or purchase thereof, prior to the passing of the said Act: Provided that no Order in Council under the provisions of this section shall take effect until after the expiration of two months from the date of the publication thereof in the Gazette.
And whereas the Waikato District Maori Land Board, by a recommendation made on the twenty-fifth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and eight, and received on the fifth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and nine, has recommended the Governor to except from the operation of section one hundred and seventeen of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” for the purpose of alienation by way of sale, the block or parcel of land particularised and set out in the Schedule hereto:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by section four of “The Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1895,” and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby except the said land from the operation of section one hundred and seventeen of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” for the purpose of alienation by way of sale.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land, containing 396 acres 3 roods 23 perches, more or less, situate in the Onewhero Survey District, being part of the land known as Opuatia No. 6D No. 2, and comprised in certificate of title, Volume 128, folio 35, of the Register-book of the Auckland District, and being bounded generally as follows: Commencing at the south-eastern corner of the said Opuatia No. 6D No. 2 Block; thence westerly on a bearing of 78° 37′, 5217·6 links; thence northerly on a bearing of 160° 36′, 4194·4 links, and on a bearing of 168° 41′ 30″, 3872·2 links; thence easterly on a bearing of 78° 48′, 4673 links; thence southerly on a bearing of 168° 29′ to the intersection of a road; thence easterly along that road to the external boundary of the said block; thence southerly on a bearing of 165° 29′, 6088 links.

Validating Irregularity in summoning Special Meeting of Cambridge Borough Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of March, 1909.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS a special meeting of the Cambridge Borough Council to be held on the twenty-fifth February, one thousand nine hundred and nine, was called by notices posted to the Mayor and Councillors on the twenty-second February, one thousand nine hundred and nine, and whereas such notices were not given within the time prescribed by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” and it is expedient to validate the same.
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that the notices calling the special meeting of the Cambridge Borough Council held on the twenty-fifth February, one thousand nine hundred and nine, shall be deemed and taken to be as valid as though the said notices had been duly and properly delivered in accordance with the provisions of the said “Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” and that the proceedings of the said special meeting shall not be called in question by reason only of the irregularity in the delivery of the said notices.

WHEREAS by section forty of “The Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, with respect to any public domain, appoint such persons (not exceeding nine) as he thinks fit to be a Domain Board having, subject to the said Act, control of such domain:
