Situated about two miles from Herekino by formed road.

HOKIANGA COUNTY.—PUNAKITERE SURVEY DISTRICT.

Stony soil of second-class quality, on volcanic formation; fairly watered by stream and swamp. Situated four miles from Taheke by fair road.

HOKIANGA COUNTY.—WAOKU SURVEY DISTRICT.

Soil of second-class quality and very stony, on clay subsoil. Distant nine miles from Opononi Landing by fair road.

Soil of fair second-class quality, but very stony, on clay subsoil. Access from Opononi, nine miles distant, by fair made road.

HOBSON COUNTY.—TATARARIKI PARISH.

Soil of swamp, good when drained; soil on hills loam and sandy clay of inferior quality, on sandstone formation. Situated three miles from Te Kopuru—two miles by dray-road and one mile in course of formation.

Opening Lands in Taranaki Land District for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided in section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Wednesday, the twenty-first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and nine; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1908.”

Situated on May Road. Access from Uruti, distant about nine miles—three miles and a half by dray-road, remainder pack-track. Steep and broken country of good quality, papa- and sandstone formation; fairly well watered. The forest is heavy, comprising rata, rimu, hinau, tawa, &c., and a dense undergrowth. About 17 acres has been felled, but has grown up again.

Weighted with £139 10s., valuation for improvements, comprising 60 acres felled and grassed and 9 chains fencing. An additional 20 acres was felled some years ago, but has grown up again.

Steep and broken country of good quality; fairly well watered. The forest is heavy, comprising rata, rimu, kahikatea, tawa, &c., and a dense undergrowth.

Situated on railway reserve adjoining Moki Road. Easy to steep slopes, with some fairly level land of good quality; formation, papa and sandstone. The forest is heavy, comprising rata, rimu, hinau, tawa, &c., and dense undergrowth. About 152 acres was felled some years ago, but owing to neglect the bush has grown up again. The land is well watered. The former tenant of this section holds a lease of part of the township and railway reserve in front, expiring December, 1911, upon which 20 acres of the bush has been felled and grassed, and 70 chains fencing erected.

CLIFTON COUNTY.—MIMI SURVEY DISTRICT.

TARANAKI COUNTY.—EGMONT SURVEY DISTRICT.

Situated north-west side of Mt. Egmont, about fourteen miles from New Plymouth by Avenue and Mangorei Roads. Rough slopes, cut up by gullies, and very little flat land. The soil is inferior, on volcanic-clay formation; covered with forest of towai, tawhero, rimu, and a few rata, with light undergrowth; and well watered.

CLIFTON COUNTY.—POUATU SURVEY DISTRICT.

PATEA COUNTY.—KAPARA SURVEY DISTRICT.
