Native Land taken for the Purposes of a Road in Ahikouka
No. 2b Block and Reporua No. 3 Block, Block XIV,
Waiapu Survey District, Waiapu County.

PLUNKET, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-
seventh day of January, 1909.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE JAMES CARROLL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is required to be taken for a public work, to wit,
for the purposes of a road in Ahikouka No. 2B Block and
Reporua No. 3 Block, Block XIV, Waiapu Survey District:
And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native
owners under a title which is not derived from the Crown:
And whereas a map in duplicate has been prepared of the
said land, as required by the ninetieth section of “The
Public Works Act, 1908”:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers
vested in him by the ninetieth section of the said Act, and
of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His
Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that the
lands shown upon such map, and described in the Schedule
hereto, shall be deemed to be taken for the purposes of the
said road; and shall vest in His Majesty the King as from
the eighth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and
nine.

above mentioned, and deposited in the office of the Chief
Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land
District.

Land taken for a Native School and Access thereto at Rakaunui.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of January, 1909.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE JAMES CARROLL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedules hereto
is required for a certain public work, to wit, a
Native school and access thereto:
And whereas the Native owners have agreed to make a
free gift of the said land to His Majesty the King, and it
has been made to appear that such agreement is sufficient
for the purposes intended to be effected thereby:
And whereas by an order of the Native Land Court
bearing date the thirtieth day of May, one thousand nine
hundred and one, certain aboriginal Natives are declared to
be the owners of the Awaroa A No. 3 Block, within which
the said land is situated:
And whereas, as required by “The Public Works Act,
1908,” maps have been prepared showing accurately the
position and extent of the said land, and such maps are
hereto attached:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by “The Public Works Act, 1908,” and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
order and declare that the land shown upon the said maps and described in the Schedules hereto, is hereby taken for the purposes of the said Native school and access thereto; and shall vest in His Majesty the King as from the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and nine.
