In the matter of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” and of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” and amendments thereto.
I hereby give notice that on the 30th day of January, 1909, a proposal was submitted by the Waipawa Borough Council to the ratepayers of the Borough of Waipawa for raising a special loan of £8,700 for constructing a drainage system for the borough; and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For, 141; against, 38; informal, 6.
And I declare the said proposal to be carried.

Proposal to raise a Loan of £1,200 under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”—Result of Poll.
In accordance with the provisions of section 13 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” I hereby notify the result of poll of ratepayers held on Wednesday, 27th January, 1909, to determine above proposal to borrow £1,200 to be as follows: Total votes recorded, 78; votes for proposal, 58; votes against proposal, 20; informal votes, nil; majority of votes recorded for the proposal, 38.
The number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal exceeding three-fifths of the total number of votes recorded at the poll, I hereby declare the proposal carried in accordance with section 12 of the above Act.

THE following is the result of the poll taken by the Oroua County Council in the Kimbolton Road Special-rating District, No. 24 loan, on the 26th day of January, 1909, on a proposal to borrow £230 for the construction of the several works on Kimbolton Road as advertised in the Feilding Star,
giving notice of the intention to raise such loan: Number of votes recorded for the proposal, 9; number of votes recorded against the proposal, 0.
As all the votes recorded are in favour of the proposal, I hereby declare the proposal carried.

WE hereby give notice that on the 28th day of January, 1909, a proposal was submitted by the Christchurch City Council to the ratepayers of Sydenham Ward No. 3 Waterworks Loan Special-rating Area for raising a special loan of £9,500 for completing the construction of waterworks and reticulation with water-mains of the said Sydenham Ward No. 3 Waterworks Loan Special-rating Area for the supply of pure water for the use and benefit of the inhabitants of the said special-rating area; and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For the proposal, 161; against the proposal, 59.
And we declare the said proposal to be carried.

NOTICE is hereby given that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Gisborne was taken at Gisborne on Wednesday, the 3rd day of February, 1909, upon proposals to borrow £41,390 for streets, £6,150 for recreation-grounds, £20,000 for outfall sewer, &c., and £35,000 for drainage, and £10,000 for house-connections; and at such poll the number of valid votes recorded was as follows:—
