THE following special order, made by the Palmerston Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

BOROUGH OF PALMERSTON.

Special Order.

THIS is to certify that at a special meeting of the Council held on the 28th day of December, 1908, the following resolution was passed, and duly confirmed at an ordinary meeting held on the 2nd day of February, 1909:—

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in its behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” the Palmerston Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan, authorised to be raised by the Palmerston Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for providing a gravitation scheme to bring water from the Blue Mountain to Palmerston, the said Palmerston Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 5d. in the pound upon all rateable value of rateable property of the Palmerston Borough; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

THE following special order, made by the Hunterville Town Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

HUNTERVILLE TOWN BOARD.

Special Order making Special Rate.

THE Hunterville Town Board, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by “The Town Boards Act, 1908,” and its amendments, and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” and its amendments, and all other powers and authorities enabling it in that behalf, doth hereby resolve by special order: That, for the purpose of providing interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a special loan of £5,000, authorised to be raised, under “The Town Districts Act, 1881,” and its amendments, and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments, for the purposes of (a) works for the supply of water to the Hunterville Town District, and (b) works of drainage and sewerage in the said town district, the Hunterville Town Board makes and levies a special rate of 1½d. in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property within the Hunterville Town District; such rate to be an annually recurring rate, payable annually on the 1st day of July in every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-one years from the 1st day of February, 1909, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify the above special order was duly passed at a special meeting of the Hunterville Town Board held on the 31st day of December, 1908, and duly confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the said Board held on the 28th day of January, 1909.

In testimony whereof the common seal of the Hunterville Town Board has been hereunto affixed.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the City of Christchurch, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

In the matter of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” “The Local Elections and Polls Act, 1908,” and of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

WE hereby give notice that on the 28th day of January, 1909, a proposal was submitted by the Christchurch City Council to the ratepayers of Beckenham-Fisherton Waterworks Loan Special-rating Area for raising a special loan of £3,500 for the construction of waterworks for the supply of pure water for the use and benefit of the inhabitants of the said Beckenham-Fisherton Waterworks Loan Special-rating Area; and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For the proposal, 43; against the proposal, 20.

And we declare the said proposal to be carried.

Results of Polls for Proposed Loans.

THE following notices, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Waipawa, are published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

WAIPAWA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

In the matter of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” and of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” and amendments thereto.

I HEREBY give notice that on the 30th day of January, 1909, a proposal was submitted by the Waipawa Borough Council to the ratepayers of the Borough of Waipawa for raising a special loan of £2,500 for the purpose of purchasing Section No. 37 and part Section No. 38, and Odd Fellows’ Hall, and rebuilding a portion of the said hall, and adding thereto a building to contain borough offices and chamber, and public library; and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For, 121; against, 54; informal, 9.

And I declare the said proposal to be carried.

WAIPAWA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

In the matter of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” and of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” and amendments thereto.

I hereby give notice that on the 30th day of January, 1909, a proposal was submitted by the Waipawa Borough Council to the ratepayers of the Borough of Waipawa for raising a special loan of £900 for extending the present borough water-supply to Richmond Park; and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For, 158; against, 22; informal, 5.

And I declare the said proposal to be carried.
