Opening National Endowment Land in Auckland Land District for Selection.
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by "The Land Act, 1908," I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the national endowment land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and ten, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule ; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—ROTORUA COUNTY.—MAKETU SURVEY DISTRICT.

Altitude, 800 ft. to 900 ft. above sea-level. Undulating land, steep along banks of Rerenga and Taumatapaua Streams. All covered with mixed forest, comprising rimu, rata, and tawa, with thick undergrowth of scrub. Soil of good quality, of a sandy nature, on volcanic-cement formation; well watered. Situated on the Whataroa Road, about eight miles from Ngawaro Post-office. The road is formed to within half a mile of the section.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this tenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and nine.

Altitude, 2,020 ft. to 2,047 ft. above sea-level. Undulating land covered with mixed forest, comprising tawa, rata, and rimu of no commercial value; thick undergrowth of scrub. Soil of good quality, of a sandy nature, on volcanic cement; indifferently watered. Situated about five miles from Ngawaro Post-office, two miles by Rotorua-Tauranga coach-road, and three miles by formed dray-road.

Altitude, 800 ft. to 2,047 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to broken country, covered with heavy mixed forest, comprising rimu, rata, and tawa, with thick undergrowth of scrub. Soil good quality, of a sandy nature, on sandstone formation; well watered. Situated from five to six miles from Ngawaro Post-office, two miles by coach-road, three miles by formed road; about half-mile by track.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this tenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and nine.

The train runs as far as Catlin's River Railway-station, distant about ten miles and a half from the block, but the construction of the railway has been completed to Houipapa, distant about eight miles from the block.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by "The Land Act, 1908," I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and ten, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule ; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to section one hundred and thirty-five of the said Act, as it contains, or is supposed to contain, metal, mineral, or valuable stone.

About 150 acres swamp of good quality if drainable, but liable to flood; balance undulating land, covered with fern and manuka. Clay soil from fair to inferior in quality; well watered by swamps. Situated about sixteen miles from Huntly by road and seven miles from Churchill by water.
