Removing Restrictions against Alienation of Native Land.
PLUNKET, Governor.
WHEREAS by section four of “The Maori Land Laws Amendment Act, 1903,” it is enacted that, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in any Act, or in any Crown grant or other instrument of title, the Governor may, on the recommendation of the Board, remove any restriction on the alienation of land owned by Maoris: Provided that the decision of the Governor on any recommendation of the Board shall be given within six months from the date of the receipt of such recommendation:
And whereas the Maniapoto-Tuwharetoa District Maori Land Board, by a recommendation made and passed by the said Board on the first day of October, one thousand nine hundred and nine, and received on the twenty-fifth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and nine, recommended the Governor to remove and revoke the restrictions against alienation contained in the instrument of title of the block of land particularised and set out in the Schedule hereto, so far as to enable the same to be alienated by way of mortgage:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon and vested in me by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities me thereunto enabling, and in accordance with the recommendation of the Maniapoto-Tuwharetoa District Maori Land Board aforesaid, do hereby remove and revoke the restrictions now existing against the alienation of the said land, so far as to permit the same to be alienated by way of mortgage.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land, situate in the Ohinewairua Survey District, containing 2,101 acres, more or less, known as Motukawa 2B No. 19, and comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 170, folio 132, of the Register-book of the Wellington District, which said certificate of title contains the restriction that the said land shall be “inalienable.”

Trustees of a Rifle-range Reserve appointed.
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN exercise and pursuance of the power and authority conferred by “The Defence Act, 1908” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, doth hereby constitute and appoint
Lieutenant-Colonel Horace Dorset Eccles, 3rd Regiment, Auckland Mounted Rifle Volunteers;
Lieutenant Arthur Conrad Hingston, Bay of Islands Mounted Rifle Volunteers;
Charles Frederick Chipman Miller, Esq.;
William Stewart, Esq.; and
John William Proudfoot, Esq.,
to be Trustees of the Kawakawa Rifle Range Reserve, such reserve being all that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 41 acres 3 roods 20 perches, more or less, being Section No. 30, Block XVI, Kawakawa Survey District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. 5336/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red: together with all buildings erected thereon: to hold the said several premises for the purpose of maintaining a rifle range for Volunteer purposes, and generally for the purposes of and with the powers conferred by the said Act. And it is hereby declared that the said Trustees shall be incorporated under the name of “The Trustees of the Kawakawa Rifle Range Reserve,” and that they shall take office as such Trustees on the seventh day of December, one thousand nine hundred and nine.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this seventh day of December, one thousand nine hundred and nine.

Notifying Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale by Public Auction.
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Friday, the twenty-fifth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and ten, as the time at which the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

Ngaruawahia is situated at the confluence of the Waikato and Waipa Rivers, on the Main Trunk Railway line, eighty-four miles south of Auckland. These lots are close to the railway-station and post-office.
