Opening Lands in Nelson Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided in section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the rural lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on Wednesday, the twenty-seventh day of January, one thousand nine hundred and nine; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may be selected on renewable lease only, in accordance with the provisions of section one hundred and thirty-five of the said Act, as they contain, or are supposed to contain, metal, mineral, or valuable stone; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1908.”

SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Takaka County.—Totaranui Survey District.

Mostly open country, in fern, manuka, and some native grass. Fair soil in gullies, very inferior on tops of spurs, stony in places. The bush is chiefly birch, with some rimu in the gullies; well watered. Altitude, from 150 ft. to 1,200 ft. Access by a road, at present unformed, from Awaroa Mud-flat through the adjacent Section 13. Distant about two miles from Awa-iti Post-office, and about eight miles from the Totaranui Post-office.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-sixth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and eight.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” and “The Land for Settlements Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Wednesday, the twenty-seventh day of January, one thousand nine hundred and nine, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.
