LOCALITY AND DESCRIPTION.
Aria is situate on the south-eastern side of the Mokau-iti Stream, at the junction of the Mokau-Ohura, Kiekie, and Kumara Roads. It is distant from Te Kuiti Railway-station about twenty-four miles, via the Awakino–Te Kuiti Road, which is formed for dray traffic, and from Ongarue Railway-station about forty-four miles, partly by dray-road and partly by good horse-road. Other roads converge at Aria opening up large areas of land that are rapidly becoming profitable farms, and the town will no doubt become the centre of a prosperous dairying district.
The site of the town is practically level, and is covered with grass, fern, and light manuka scrub. It is connected by telephone, and a dairy factory has been established near it.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-third day of November, one thousand nine hundred and eight.
