Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me
by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale
the land in the Southland Land District described in the
Schedule hereunder written, for a site for a reservoir.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing
by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 36 perches, more or less,
being Sections Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, Block XVII, Town of
Campbelltown. Bounded towards the north by Foyle Street;
towards the east by Section No. 8, Block XVII, Town of
Campbelltown; towards the south by Sections Nos. 22, 23,
24, 25, and 26, in the said block; towards the west by Sec-
tion No. 1 in the said block; again towards the south by
said Section No. 1; and again towards the west by Suir
Street: as the same is delineated on the plan marked
L. 5227/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of
Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twentieth day of November, one thousand
nine hundred and eight.

Opening Land in Nelson Land District for Selection on
Renewable Lease.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authori-
ties conferred upon me by "The Land Act, 1908," I,
William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion
of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-
Secretary in this behalf, as provided in section one-hun-
dred-and-fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that
the rural land described in the Schedule hereto shall be
open for selection on Wednesday, the twenty-seventh day
of January, one thousand nine hundred and nine; and
also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may be
selected on renewable lease only, in accordance with the
provisions of section one hundred and thirty-five of the said
Act, as it contains, or is supposed to contain, metal,
mineral, or valuable stone; and I do hereby also fix the
price at which the said land shall be leased, as mentioned
in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said
land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of
"The Land Act, 1908."

This area consists of low undulating hills, rising from
the sea to an altitude of about 300 ft. to 400 ft.; lies well to
the sun, and is in every respect well suited for pastoral
purposes. The soil is of very good quality, and is partly
covered with scrub and timber of no commercial value.
Access can be obtained from Collingwood by a good dray-
road to the West Wanganui Mud-flat, a distance of about
ten miles, thence along the coast-line, at low water only, a
further distance of about four miles.

this seventh day of November, one thousand nine
hundred and eight.

prices at which the said lands shall be leased, as mentioned
in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said
lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of
"The Land Act, 1908."

All level, about half being inferior swampy land. The
sections have frontage to the road running along the West-
port - Mokihinui Railway line. Accessible by a metalled
road, and distant about one mile from Waimangaroa Rail-
way-station.

About one-third of the sections is flat; the remainder is
undulating sideling country. Fair soil; on the flats it is
alluvial and gravelly loam of good quality, while on the
sideling country it is papa and gravelly loam of a fair quality
with some mossy patches. Forest consists of light bush of
red and brown birch, with pukapuka, karaka, and other
underscrubs. When cleared and grassed this country is
suitable for agricultural or pastoral purposes, preferably the
latter, as it is good grass-growing land. The sections are
respectively distant from the Warwick Junction Post-office
about ten and eleven miles; a dray-road is being formed,
about eight miles and a half of which is already completed.

this thirteenth day of November, one thousand
nine hundred and eight.
