And, in further pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authority aforesaid, and with the like advice and consent as
aforesaid, His Excellency doth also determine that the
place where the said duties of land-tax shall be payable shall
be the office of the Commissioner of Taxes, at the Govern-
ment Buildings, Wellington, and that notice to the fore-
going effect shall be given by the said Commissioner
accordingly.

a County Road.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this second
day of November, 1908.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, K.C.M.G.,
PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him
by "The Public Works Act, 1908," and of all other
powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excel-
lency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that
a certain road at Marton, on the Foxton — New Plymouth
Railway, situated in the County of Rangitikei, and described
in the Schedule hereto, and which said road has hitherto
been a Government road within the meaning of the said Act,
shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become
a county road.

PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him

Bluff Railway, situated in the County of Taieri, and
described in the Schedule hereto, and which said road has
hitherto been a Government road within the meaning of
the said Act, shall, on and after the date of this Order in
Council, become a county road.
SCHEDULE.
ALL those parcels of land in the Otago Land District, con-
taining in the aggregate 2 roods 3 perches, more or less,
being portions of Allotments 2, 3, 4, and 5 of Block II,
Township of Abbotsford, and part of private road and part
of Section 60, situated in Block VII, Dunedin and East
Taieri Survey District, and being those parcels of land at
Abbotsford taken for a road in connection with the Wai-
taki—Bluff Railway by a Proclamation dated the 26th day
of August, 1908, and published in the New Zealand Gazette
No. 68, of the 3rd day of September, 1908; as the said
parcels of land are more particularly shown coloured yellow,
sepia, and neutral tint on plan marked W.R. 16558, de-
posited in the office of the Minister of Railways, at Wel-
lington.

Consenting to Land being taken for Road through Sec-
tions W. 180 and 181, Parish of Waioeka, Block III,
Opotiki Survey District, Opotiki County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fifth
day of November, 1908.

PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section ninety-four of "The Public
Works Act, 1908," it is provided that there shall
not be taken under the authority of section ninety-three of
the said Act any land occupied by any pa, village, or cultiva-
tion, or any buildings, gardens, orchards, plantations, or any
burial or ornamental grounds, without the previous consent
of the Governor in Council:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is
required to be taken for the purposes of a road, and it ap-
pears that consent should be given to the taking of the said
land for the purpose indicated:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby consent to the land described in the Schedule
hereto being taken for the purposes of a road.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that strip of land 1 chain wide in the Waioeka
Parish, Opotiki County, Land District of Auckland, com-
mencing at its junction with a road-line at the north-east
corner of Section W. 180, and proceeding thence in a south-
westerly direction through the said Section W. 180 to the
western boundary of that section; thence southerly along
the said boundary for a distance of 480 links, more or less;
thence again south-westerly and on the southern side of
the north-western boundary of Section 181 to its junction
with a road-line forming the south-western boundary of the
said Section 181; all in Block III, Opotiki Survey District:
as the said strip of land is more particularly delineated on
the plan marked R. 10039^1, deposited in the office of the
Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington
Land District, and thereon coloured red.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this second

PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Public Works Act, 1908," it is,
in section fifteen thereof, inter alia, enacted that,
except for the purpose of a railway or for defence purposes,
or for the purposes of any other public work to be made
under the authority of a special Act, there shall not be taken
any land occupied by any building, yard, garden, orchard,
or vineyard, or in bona fide occupation as an ornamental
park or pleasure ground, without the previous consent of
the Governor in Council:
And whereas the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is required to be taken under the said Act for the purpose of
harbour-works: And whereas the said land is partly occu-
pied by buildings and yards, and it is expedient to give such
consent as aforesaid:
