UNDER “THE MINING ACT, 1905.”

APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.

To the Warden of the Hauraki Mining District, at Thames.

PURSUANT to “The Mining Act, 1905,” the under-signed, Burgoyne Owen, of Auckland, Gentleman, hereby applies for a license for a water-race as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Date and number of miner’s right: 19th December, 1906; No. 53746.

Address for service: Care of Edwin Clendon, Solicitor, Thames.

Dated at Thames, this 6th day of December, 1907.

Schedule.

Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal points: Situate at Tairua, in the Hauraki Mining District. Commencing at a peg marked ===, on third branch of Tairua River, and running thence in a southerly direction generally for about 80 chains to terminal point marked ===, on applicant’s proposed battery-site, about 3 chains above Broken Hill Gold-mining Company’s dam. Marked out on 5th December, 1907, at 11 a.m. Pegs marked ===.

Length and intended course of race: About 80 chains; generally southerly.

Points of intake: Starting-point.

Estimated time and cost of construction: Six months; £1,000.

Mean depth and breadth: 2 ft. deep, 2 ft. 6 in. wide.

Number of heads to be diverted: Ten.

Purpose for which water is to be used: Mining purposes.

Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.
