MAORI LAND ADMINISTRATION NOTICE.
Meeting of the Tairawhiti District Maori Land Board.
NOTICE is hereby given that the matter mentioned in the Schedule hereunder written will be considered at a meeting of the Tairawhiti District Maori Land Board to be held at Gisborne on Monday, the 2nd day of November, 1908, or as soon thereafter as the business of the Board will allow.

APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.
To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Arrowtown.
PURSUANT to "The Mining Act, 1908," the undersigned, Patrick Cosgrove, Francis Cosgrove, and James Cosgrove, all of Gibbston, Miners, hereby apply for a license for a water-race as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose. Precise time of marking out privilege applied for : 14th October, 1908, at 11 a.m.
Date and number of miner's right : 26th October, 1907-63430; 26th October, 1907-63431; 12th March, 1908-63462.
Address for service: Office of Wesley Turton, Arrowtown.
Dated at Queenstown, this 14th day of October, 1908.
Schedule.
Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal points : Camp Creek, Gibbston. Commencing at a point in Camp Creek about a mile above the Gibbston Road, running through Section 41, Block I, Kawarau District, the leasehold land of Patrick Cosgrove; through Section 42, Block I, Kawarau District, the leasehold land of Thomas Butler; through James Whelan's leasehold land; through Thomas Butler's freehold Section 49, Block I, Kawarau District; again through James Whelan's leasehold land, through Crown lands, then down Cosgrove's Creek about 12 yards, using said creek as part of the race, and crossing such creek, thence through Crown lands, and through the mining reserve and that part of the said reserve held by Thomas Butler under a yearly license from the Crown, and terminating near the Kawarau Bridge; crossing the said Gibbston Road in two places under culverts. The race now applied for was formerly held by the applicants under License for Water-race No. 5264, dated 14th November, 1890. Pegs marked ===.
Length and intended course of race : About three miles ; south-west.
Points of intake : The commencing-point.
Estimated time and cost of construction : Already constructed and in use for the last twenty-five years.
Mean depth and breadth : 2 ft. by 2 ft.
Number of heads to be diverted : Four heads.
Purpose for which water is to be used : Mining, domestic purposes, irrigation, feeding and driving machinery.
Proposed term of license : Forty-two years.
