WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.
Waterworks and Te Aro Reclamation Loan Repayment Loan, 1907, of £9,500.
WHEREAS the sum of £9,500 was borrowed by the Wellington City Corporation for waterworks and reclamation purposes: And whereas the said sum of £9,500 is payable on the 31st day of December, 1907, and the sum of £9,500 is required to pay off the said loan: Now, therefore, the Wellington City Council doth hereby, in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and their respective amendments, and in exercise of all other powers enabling it or vested in it in that behalf, resolve by special order,—
First, to borrow the sum of £9,500, repayable on the 31st day of December, 1932, or such other earlier date as may be determined by the Council.
Secondly, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on the said loan of £9,500, authorised to be raised, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and their respective amendments, and in exercise of all other powers enabling it or vested in it in that behalf, the Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate 2 3/50 d. in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) on all rateable property in that part of the City of Wellington as it was bounded prior to the incorporation therein of the Borough of Melrose, the boundaries of which are set forth in the Schedule to this resolution; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or such shorter period as may be determined by the Council, or until the loan is fully paid off.
SCHEDULE.
The boundaries commence at a point where the north-eastern boundary of the land forming part of the Harbour of Port Nicholson, and granted by deed of grant dated the eighteenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-five, to the Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, joins the Hutt Road, and extending from thence along the said road to a point due east of the eastern extremity of the southern boundary of Section No. 1, Harbour District; thence across the Hutt Road to the eastern extremity of the southern boundary of the said Section No. 1, Harbour District; thence the city is bounded by the said Section No. 1, Harbour District, by Sections Nos. 3 and 2, Kaiwarawara District, and by the Tinakori North and Tinakori South Native Reserves, and by the Orangi-Kaupapa Native Reserve to where its eastern boundary meets the Tinakori Road; thence across the Tinakori Road to the eastern side thereof; thence by the Tinakori Road to where it meets the eastern boundary of Section No. 29, Karori; thence by the said Section No. 29, Karori, and by Section No. 28, Karori, and by Sections Nos. 10 and 11, Ohiro, to where the northern boundary of the said Section No. 11 meets a road which runs along the eastern boundary of the said Section No. 11; thence across the said road to the eastern side thereof; thence by the said road and by Sections Nos. 12, 15, 18, and 20, Ohiro, and by Section No. 5, Town District, to where the northern boundary of the said Section No. 5 meets the Adelaide Road; thence across the Adelaide Road to the eastern side thereof; thence by the Adelaide Road and by Section No. 2, Town District, and by Sections Nos. 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1, Evans Bay District, to where the western boundary of the said Section No. 1 meets a road running along the shore of Lambton Harbour; thence across the said road to high-water mark; thence by the waters of Port Nicholson to a point on high-water mark due east of the starting-point; thence by a line due west to the starting-point.
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly adopted at a special meeting of the Wellington City Council held on the 5th day of December, 1907, and was duly confirmed at an ordinary meeting of the Council held on the 16th day of January, 1908.

MIRAMAR BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Miramar Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £71,000, authorised to be raised by the Miramar Borough Council, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for providing a water-supply for the borough, providing a system of sewerage for the borough, and street-improvement works (construction of streets and providing shelter-sheds and road-roller), the said Miramar Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 3 1/2 d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Miramar, comprising that area in the Wellington Land District, situated in Blocks VII and XI, Port Nicholson Survey District, bounded towards the west by the City of Wellington from Lyell Bay to Evans Bay, and thence by high-water mark of Evans Bay to Point Halswell; thence towards the north-east generally by high-water mark of Port Nicholson to Palmer Head; thence towards the south-east generally by the high-water mark of the sea to Lyell Bay; and thence towards the south by high-water mark of Lyell Bay to the boundary of the City of Wellington: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly made and passed at a special meeting of the Miramar Borough Council held on the 19th day of December, 1907, and duly confirmed at a meeting of the said Council held on the 23rd day of January, 1908.

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL.
Special Order to raise a Loan and making a Special Rate.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” “The Public Health Act, 1900,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows:—
(a.) That whereas section 66 of “The Public Health Act, 1900,” provides that in any case where a sanitary work to be constructed has been recommended by the District Health Officer and approved by the Minister of Public Health, a local authority may, for the purpose of constructing the said work, borrow money by special order without taking any poll of the ratepayers or obtaining their consent to the work or the loan: And whereas the District Health Officer has recommended “that the Christchurch City Council establish lavatories, water-closets, urinals, and any similar sanitary conveniences that may be considered advisable for the use of both sexes of the general public,” and the Honourable the Minister of Public Health has approved of the said Council going on with the said works: Now, therefore, the said Christchurch City Council doth hereby by special order resolve to borrow by way of special loan the sum of £4,500 during two successive years—namely, £3,000 for the year ending the 31st March, 1908, and £1,500 for the year ending the 31st March, 1909—the said loan to be for a period of thirty-two years, bearing interest in the meantime at the rate of £4 per centum per annum, for constructing the following sanitary work, namely: An underground urinal at or near the intersection of Manchester Street and High Street; an underground urinal at or near the intersection of High Street and Cashel Street; and underground lavatories, water-closets, and urinals for both sexes of the general public in Cathedral Square.
