comprising taraire, puriri, tawa, kohekohe, with dense under-
growth of nikau and bush-ferns. Soil of fair second-class
quality; resting on sandstone formation; well watered.
Situated about eleven miles from Awanui by good formed
road.

originally covered with forest, and at one time cleared and
grassed, but now overgrown with fern and tea-tree. Soil of

and manuka land, with about 30 acres of rough grass (rat-
tail and danthonia); about 50 acres swamp, of which 3 acres
is good quality; sloping to steep country. Soil fair to in-
ferior, and rocky in parts. Frontage to sea-beach between
Rangaunu and Doubtless Bays. Access by road and sea-
beach, about nineteen miles from Mangonui and twenty
miles from Awanui.

tree, kahikatea, rimu, and rata, and two kauri-trees; dense
undergrowth of supplejack and ferns. Soil of fair quality,
resting on slate formation; well watered. Access from Cleve-
don by good road for seven miles to Ness Valley Post-office,
thence about nine miles to section, five miles of this fairly
good cart-road, balance rough track and partly made cart-
road to within quarter mile of section; school about one
mile from section.

tion; well watered by Pukaka Stream. Situated twenty-
three miles from Ohinewai Railway-station by formed road,
seventeen miles being cart-road.

Kawhia-Pirongia Road, or two miles by track across mud-
flat at low water.
