river through Sections 134, 132, and 131 to the aforesaid
public road; thence by the aforesaid road until it meets the
river's edge; then following the right bank of the river to a
public road at the north-western corner of Clive Suburban
Section 8; thence along that road and the north-eastern
boundaries of Clive Suburban Sections 8, 7, 6, 5, 14, 15, and
16; thence in a south-westerly direction, bounded on the
east by a public road, to the junction of that road with the
county road; thence bounded on the north-east by the said
county road to the lagoon; thence by the lagoon and thence
by the aforesaid county road until it meets Education
Reserve 107; thence by the said Education Reserve 107;
thence running in a south-easterly direction along
the north-eastern boundary of Clive Suburban Sec-
tions 157 and 158; thence running in a south-westerly
direction, bounded by a public road, to the junction of that
road with another public road at the southern end of Clive
Suburban Section 163; thence in a south-westerly direction
by a straight line running through Clive Suburban Sec-
tions 164, 165, 166, 167, 168, and 169 to the intersection of
the old and new roads in Section 169; thence in a south-
westerly direction by a public road being the south-eastern
boundary of the said Section 169; thence by a closed road
through Section 279 to a public road running through that
section; thence towards the south-east following the said
public road through Clive Suburban Sections 279, 278, and
277 until it meets the southern boundary of Section 277;
thence in a westerly direction along the southern boundary
of the said Section 277; thence in a southerly direction
along the eastern boundary of Clive Suburban Section 282;
thence in a westerly direction along the southern boundary
of the said Section 282 to the starting-point.

Passed at a special meeting of the Hawke's Bay County
Council held on the 13th day of July, 1908, and confirmed at
a special meeting held on the 10th day of August, 1908.

The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and In-
habitants of the County of Hawke's Bay was hereunto

Road Board, is published in accordance with the pro-
visions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908."

WHANGAMARINO ROAD BOARD.

Special Order making Special Rate.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901," and amend-
ments thereof, the Whangamarino Road Board will, at a
special meeting to be held in Waerenga Hall, 11 a.m.,
Saturday, the 18th July, 1908, by resolution, make the
undermentioned special order:—
That for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £3,368 2s. 2d., authorised to be raised
by above Road Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for
the purpose of metalling roads in Waerenga Special-rating
District, the Whangamarino Road Board makes and levies
a special rate of 7/16d. in the pound upon the rateable value of
all rateable property in the said Waerenga Special-rating
District, with the exceptions of Sections Nos. 481, 499A, 480,
391, 477A, 476, 398, 429, 428, 390; and that such special rate
shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of
such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August
in each and every year during the currency of such loan,
being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully
paid off.

THE following special order, made by the Hawke's
Bay County Council, is published in accordance with
the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908."

SPECIAL ORDER MADE BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWKE'S BAY.

Special Order making Special Rate.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901," the Council
of the County of Hawke's Bay hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £2,000, authorised to be raised by the
said Council, under the provisions of the above-mentioned
Act, for the construction of a road through the Mangaohane
Block, starting at a point on the Napier-Patea Road
about seven miles from where the said road crosses the
Rangitikei River, and proceeding thence in a south-westerly
direction till it reaches the Rangitikei River, about six
miles below the said crossing, the said Council hereby makes
and levies a special rate of 3/4d. in the pound upon the rateable
value of all rateable property within the Erewhon Special-
rating District—that is to say, the Erewhon Riding of the said
county. The said rate to be an annual-recurring rate during
the currency of the said loan, and be payable half-yearly
on the 31st day of January and the 31st day of July in each
and every year during the currency of the said loan, being a
period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
Interest on the loan is to be payable at the rate of £3 10s.
per centum per annum.
Dated this 14th day of September, 1908.

Passed at a special meeting of the Hawke's Bay County
Council held on the 10th day of August, 1908, and confirmed
at a special meeting held on the 14th day of September,
1908.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the
Borough of Cambridge, is published in accordance
with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1908."

BOROUGH OF CAMBRIDGE.

Result of Poll on Loan Proposal.

In the matter of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,"
"The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901," and the Acts
amending the same respectively.

I HEREBY give public notice that on the 11th day of Septem-
ber, 1908, a proposal was submitted by the Cambridge
Borough Council to the ratepayers of the Borough of Cam-
bridge for the raising of a special loan of £5,000 for the
purpose of erecting, furnishing, equipping, and completing a
town hall, municipal buildings, and public library (in one
building) on Lot 575, Town of Cambridge East, and for
connecting the same with the present sanitation drainage
system, and that the number of votes recorded for and
against the said proposal was as follows: For, 150; against,
130; informal, 7: majority in favour of proposal, 20.
I hereby declare the said proposal to be duly carried.
Dated the 12th day of September, 1908.
