Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the
Spreydon Road Board, is published in accordance
with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908."

THE SPREYDON ROAD BOARD.

In the matter of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908."

I HEREBY notify that the following is the result of a poll of
ratepayers taken over the special area described in the
Schedule hereto on the proposal to borrow the sum of
£20,000, under the above-mentioned Act, for the following
purposes—

Channelling and regrading roads and footpaths .. 13,647
Asphalting roads and footpaths .. .. .. .. 3,269
First year's interest, cost of raising loan, survey
fees, and sundries, &c. .. .. .. .. .. 3,084

and to levy a special rate of 2 43/48d. in the pound on the unim-
proved value of all rateable property in the said area as
security for such loan, which is for thirty years at 4 1/2 per
cent.

Number of valid votes recorded : For the proposal, 237 ;
against the proposal, 60.

The number of valid votes recorded in favour of the pro-
posal being more than three-fifths of the total number of
valid votes recorded, I hereby declare the proposal to be
carried.

Schedule.

All that block of land situated in the Selwyn County,
being Rural Sections Nos. 154 and 98, and part of Rural
Section 76, in the Canterbury Land District. Commencing
at the junction of south-east side of the Lincoln Road with
the north-east bank of the River Heathcote ; thence follow-
ing the said bank south-easterly to its intersection with a
line parallel to and 7 chains distant from Cobham Street in
a south-easterly direction ; thence following this said line
north-easterly to a point 7 chains south-west from the
Wilderness Road ; thence south-easterly following a line
parallel to and 7 chains distant from the Wilderness Road to
the north-west bank of the River Heathcote ; thence follow-
ing the River Heathcote to Colombo Street ; thence following
Colombo Street to Strickland Street ; thence following Strick-
land Street, South Crescent Road, Jerrold Street, and
Bright's Road to the Lincoln Road ; and thence following
Lincoln Road to the commencing-point.
