Notice respecting Proposed Alteration in Boundaries of City of Wellington and of Borough of Onslow.

PURSUANT to section 118 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that a petition in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fourth of the electors of the area described in the Schedule hereto, has been presented to him, praying that the said area may be excluded from the Borough of Onslow and included in the City of Wellington. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to, or petitions against, the proposed alteration within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, being part Original Section No. 3, Block XI, Belmont Survey District, bounded towards the north and north-east by the Wellington and Manawatu Railway Company’s land, bearing 97° 34′, distance 385·7 links; bearing 131° 36′ 40″, distance 322·6 links; and bearing 131° 23′ 40″, distance 1026 links: towards the east by military reserve, bearing 180° 49′, distance 355·1 links: towards the south-east by the Wellington and Manawatu Railway Company’s land, bearing 206° 31′ 30″, distance 299 links: and towards the south-west by the City of Wellington: as the same is delineated on the plan marked 1908/2510, deposited in the office of the Minister of Internal Affairs, at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Special Order made by the Council of the County of Hawke’s Bay.

THE following special order, made by the Hawke’s Bay County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

SPECIAL ORDER MADE BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWKE’S BAY.

Special Order making Special Rate.

In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Hawke’s Bay County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £500, authorised to be raised by the Hawke’s Bay County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of constructing river-protection works on the right bank of the Tukituki River where the said river bounds the land described in the Schedule hereto (hereinafter referred to as “the Clive Grange Special-rating District”), the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the Clive Grange Special-rating District; and, further, that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the said loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 31st day of January and the 31st day of July in each and every year during the currency thereof, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off. Interest to be payable at the rate of £3½ per centum per annum.

THE SCHEDULE ABOVE REFERRED TO.

Firstly, all that area of land in the Land District of Hawke’s Bay, containing 30 acres, more or less, being West Clive Rural Sections Nos. 37 and 38.

Secondly, all that area of land in the Land District of Hawke’s Bay, containing 1,411 acres, more or less, bounded as follows: Starting at the south-western corner of Clive Suburban Section 282; thence on the west by a public road running along the right bank of the Tukituki River; thence by Education Reserve 177; thence following the aforesaid
