lows: That, as security for the repayment of the special loan of £3,000 proposed to be borrowed for metalling the main county road through portions of Maungakaramea and Maungatapere Parishes, in the County of Whangarei, and coloured red upon a plan attached to a petition of ratepayers presented to the Council at a meeting held on the 12th day of June, 1908, and the interest thereon, at the rate of 3½ per centum per annum, and other charges thereon, this Council do make and levy an annually recurring special rate of 1d. in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property within the Maungakaramea Special-rating District as defined in the said petition of ratepayers, the boundaries of such special-rating district being defined on the said plan attached to the said petition as edged red, and which are as follows: Bounded commencing at the south-eastern corner of Section 32 of the Parish of Maungatapere; towards the east generally by Sections 31 and 64 of the said parish to the north-western corner of said Section 32; thence by a straight line to the south-western corner of Section 87 of the said parish; thence by the western boundary-line of said Section 87 to a public road; thence by the said road to its junction with the main Maungakaramea Road; thence by the said last-mentioned road to its intersection with the northern line of Block IV, Tangihua Survey District; and thence by the said block-line and by part of the northern line of Block VI of the said survey district to trig. station marked “C”; thence in a straight line to the north-western corner of Section 136, Parish of Maungatapere, and by the north-western boundary-line of said Section 136 to the parish boundary-line; thence generally towards the north, north-west, and south-west by the same boundary-lines of the Maungakaramea Road District to the Tauroroa River; thence by the said river to the south-eastern corner of Section 18 of the Parish of Maungakaramea; and thence generally towards the south-east by the northern boundary of the Mangapai Riding Special-rating District to the commencing-point at the south-eastern corner of said Section 32, Parish of Maungatapere: such special loan to extend over a period of forty-one years, and such rate to be payable half-yearly on the 16th day of May and the 16th day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, or until the loan is fully paid off. The first year’s interest and cost of raising the loan to be taken out of loan-moneys.

THE following special order, made by the Okato Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

OKATO ROAD DISTRICT.

Special Order making Special Rate.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Okato Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,000, authorised to be raised by the Okato Road Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for forming, culverting, and metalling the Dover Road, the said Okato Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Dover Road Special-rating District, comprising Sections 52, 47, 56, 61, 16, 72, 89, 98, 64, 84, 80, 71, 78, 79, 83, 88, 93, 97, 104, 107, 128, 40, 45, 55, 60, 54, 51, 34, 65, 70, 36, 41, Block VI; part 168, 12, Sections 19, 17, 16, part 2, of Block VII; Sections 4, 5, Block II, Cape Survey District: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-two years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The common seal of the Inhabitants of the Okato Road District was affixed hereto by the Chairman by direction of resolution of the said Board.

BOROUGH OF BLENHEIM.

Special Order.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Council of the Borough of Blenheim held at the Council Chambers, Blenheim, on Friday, the 15th day of May, 1908, the following resolution (intended to operate as a special order) was duly passed, which resolution is as follows:—

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” their respective amendments, and any other Act or Acts (if any), the Council of the Borough of Blenheim hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund and other charges on a loan of £5,500, authorised to be raised by the said Council of the Borough of Blenheim, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and amendments, for the purpose of (1) gasworks, £2,500, for the purpose of increasing and improving the gasworks plant and laying mains; (2) general work, £3,000, building and repairing bridges, street-formation, and asphalting, the said Council of the Borough of Blenheim hereby makes and levies a special rate of 7/8d. in the pound sterling upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property within the said Borough of Blenheim; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 27th days of November and May in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of two years, to be computed from the 27th day of May, 1908, or until the loan is fully paid off.
