Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Canterbury Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for a public recreation-ground.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 18 acres 2 roods 31 perches, more or less, being Reserve No. 3758, situated in Block VI, Culverden Survey District (Culverden Settlement). Bounded towards the north-west generally by the Christchurch–Culverden Railway line and Culverden Railway-station yards, towards the south-east by the North Road, and towards the south-west by Section No. 13, Block VI, Culverden Survey District (Culverden Settlement); as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1116/2, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and eight.

Removing Restrictions against Alienation of Native Land.

PLUNKET, Governor.
WHEREAS by section fourteen of “The Maori Land Laws Amendment Act, 1903,” it is enacted that, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in any Act, or in any Crown grant or other instrument of title, the Governor may, on the recommendation of the Board, remove any restriction on the alienation of land owned by Maoris: Provided that the decision of the Governor on any recommendation of the Board shall be given within six months from the date of the receipt of such recommendation:
And whereas the Maniapoto-Tuwharetoa District Maori Land Board, by a recommendation made and passed by the said Board on the twenty-fifth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and eight, and received on the twenty-ninth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and eight, recommended the Governor to remove and revoke the restrictions against alienation contained in the instrument of title of the block of land particularised and set out in the Schedule hereto, so far as to permit the same to be leased:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon and vested in me by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities me thereunto enabling, and in accordance with the recommendation of the Maniapoto-Tuwharetoa District Maori Land Board aforesaid, do hereby remove and revoke the restrictions now existing against the alienation of the said land, so far as to permit the same to be leased for a term not exceeding twenty-one years.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land in the Ohinewairua Survey District, containing 91 acres and 35 perches, more or less, known as Awarua 3d3 No. 7, and comprised in a partition order of the Native Land Court dated the 2nd December, 1896, subject to the restriction that the said land shall be “inalienable.”
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this seventh day of September, one thousand nine hundred and eight.

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon and vested in me by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities me thereunto enabling, and in accordance with the recommendation of the Aotea District Maori Land Board aforesaid, do hereby remove and revoke the restrictions now existing against the alienation of the said land, so far as to permit the same to be mortgaged as aforesaid.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land in the Ikitara Survey District, containing 50 acres, more or less, known as Rakautaua No. 2b, and comprised in a partition order of the Native Land Court dated the 16th day of August, 1899, subject to the restriction that the said land shall be “inalienable by sale, or by lease for a longer period than twenty-one years, or by mortgage, except with the consent of the Governor being previously obtained to every such sale, lease, or mortgage.”
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this seventh day of September, one thousand nine hundred and eight.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the fourth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the several persons whose names are specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto to have the control and management of the public cemetery specified in the second column of the said Schedule.

Bounded towards the north-west by Lot No. 44 of Original Section No. 11, Block VI, Invercargill Hundred, a distance of 620 links; towards the north-east by a public road, a distance of 583 links; towards the south-east by a right line, being the production in an easterly direction of the south-east boundary-line of Lot No. 46 of the said Original Section No. 11, a distance of 644 links; and towards the south-west by the said Lot No. 46, a distance of 528 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: and being the whole of the area described in certificate of title, Vol. xxviii, folio 93, Southland. |
