Opening National Endowment Land in Nelson Land District for Selection.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the national endowment land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Wednesday, the eleventh day of November, one thousand nine hundred and eight, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1908.”

One hundred and fifty acres flat land, balance undulating and gravelly terraces. There is about 43 acres (in patches) felled and grassed, the remainder being covered with red-birch and brown-birch. Soil a light alluvial clay on top of gravel. The whole section is well watered, and lies at an elevation of 630 ft. above sea-level. Distant three miles and a quarter from Murchison Post-office by good metalled dray-road.

Opening Lands in Nelson Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided in section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the rural lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on Wednesday, the eleventh day of November, one thousand nine hundred and eight; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may be selected on renewable lease only, in accordance with the provisions of section one hundred and thirty-five of the said Act, as they contain, or are supposed to contain, metals, minerals, or valuable stone; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1908.”

Flat land, covered with mixed scrub and some rimu; good soil. Distant two miles by good coach-road from Westport. The Westport–Cape Foulwind Railway line passes through the section.

This section is an island in the Little Wanganui River. All good flat agricultural land, covered with mixed scrub. Distant three miles by good dray-road and one mile by Little Wanganui–Wangapeka Bridle-track from Little Wanganui Post-office and school.

Notifying Land in Wellington Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the twenty-eighth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and eight, as the time at which the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the price at which the said land shall be sold as that mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

Raurimu is on the North Island Main Trunk Railway, about twenty-six miles south of Taumarunui and about thirty miles north of Raetihi.

Land temporarily reserved for a Site for a Public Cemetery in Culverden Settlement, Canterbury Land District.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of “The Land Act, 1908,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Canterbury Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for a site for a public cemetery.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres, more or less, being Reserve No. 3757, situated in Block VI, Culverden Survey District (Culverden Settlement). Bounded towards the north-east by Section No. 20, Block VI, Culverden Survey District (Culverden Settlement); towards the south-east by the road forming the south-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section; towards the south-west by Section No. 15 of said Block VI; and towards the north-west by said Sections Nos. 15 and 20: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1548/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this third day of September, one thousand nine hundred and eight.
