Hawke's Bay Land Districts to a point marked "Oatau" on
the plan hereinafter referred to; towards the south-east by
a right line from the last-mentioned point to Trig. Station
No. 3, in Block I, Motu Survey District, and by a right line
from thence to Trig. Station No. 2, in Block IV, Waioeka
South Survey District; and towards the west generally by
right lines to the south-easternmost corner of Section No. 1
of the said Block IV. by that section, and by Sections Nos. 3A
and 1 of Block XVI, Waioeka Survey District: as the same
is delineated upon the plan marked S.G. 4256/1, deposited in
the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, in the
Wellington Land District, and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight
Commander of the Most Distinguished Order
of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight
Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Go-
vernor and Commander-in-Chief in and over
His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its
Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the
said Dominion, at the Government House, at
Wellington, this seventh day of September, in the
year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and
eight.

Land taken for a Native School at Matihetihe.


PLUNKET, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourth
day of August, 1908.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is required for a certain public work, to wit, a
Native school:

And whereas the Native owners have agreed to make a
free gift of the said land to His Majesty the King, and it
has been made to appear that such agreement is sufficient
for the purposes intended to be effected thereby:

And whereas by a partition order made by the Native
Land Court, bearing date the ninth day of October, one
thousand nine hundred and six, certain aboriginal Natives
are declared to be the owners of the Moetangi B2 No. 2
Block, within which the said land is situated:

And whereas, as required by "The Public Works Acts
Compilation Act, 1905," a map has been prepared showing
accurately the position and extent of the said land, and
such map is hereto attached:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the
powers and authorities conferred by "The Public Works
Acts Compilation Act, 1905," and acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the land
shown upon the said map, and described in the Schedule
hereto, is hereby taken for the purposes of the said Native
school, and shall vest in His Majesty the King, as from the
twenty-first day of September, one thousand nine hundred
and eight.

Native Land taken for the Purposes of a Road in Paremata
No. 4, Block XII, Uawa Survey District, Cook County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-
fifth day of August, 1908.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is required to be taken for a public work, to wit,
for the purposes of a road in Paremata No. 4, Block XII,
Uawa Survey District:

And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native
owners under a title which is not derived from the Crown:

And whereas a map in duplicate has been prepared of the
said land, as required by the ninetieth section of "The
Public Works Act, 1908":

Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers
vested in him by the ninetieth section of the said Act, and
of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf,
His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New
Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare
that the land shown upon such map, and described in the
Schedule hereto, shall be deemed to be taken for the pur-
poses of the said road as from the eighth day of October,
one thousand nine hundred and eight.

Declaring a Road in the Waipara Road District to be a
District Road.

PLUNKET, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this seventh
day of September, 1908.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him
by "The Public Works Act, 1905," and of all other
powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excel-
lency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order that
the road taken in connection with the branch of the Hurunui-Waitaki Railway from Waipara to Mackenzie, situated
in the Waipara Road District, and described in the Schedule
hereto, and which said road has hitherto been a Government
road within the meaning of the said Act, shall, on and after
the date of this Order in Council, become a district road
under the control and management of the Waipara Road
Board.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Land District of Canterbury,
containing 5 acres 1 rood 8.2 perches, more or less, being
portions of Sections 26, 27, 28, and 29 in Rural Sections
7538 and 7538x, Blocks XIV and XV, Waikari Survey Dis-
trict, and being portion of the land taken for a road in
connection with the branch of the Hurunui-Waitaki Rail-
way from Waipara to Mackenzie by a Proclamation dated
the 13th day of January, 1903, and published in the New
Zealand Gazette No. 4, of the 15th day of January, 1903;
as the same is more particularly delineated upon the plan
marked W.R. 16577, deposited in the office of the Minister
for Railways, at Wellington, and thereon coloured purple.
