Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the purposes of the said Act, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the land described in the Schedule hereto as set apart for settlement.

Importation of Prison-made Goods prohibited.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred by section sixty-seven of “The Customs Laws Consolidation Act, 1882,” and section six of “The Customs Duties Amendment Act, 1900,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and order that the importation into New Zealand of the goods hereinafter mentioned is hereby prohibited on and after the first day of November, one thousand nine hundred and eight, that is to say,—
Goods manufactured or produced wholly or in part by prison labour, or which have been made within or in connection with any prison, gaol, or penitentiary; also goods similar in character to those produced in such institutions when sold or offered for sale by any person, firm, or corporation having a contract for the manufacture of such articles in such institutions, or by any agent of such person, firm, or corporation, or when such goods were originally purchased from or transferred by any such contractor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth day of July, 1908.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken for a public work, to wit, for the purposes of a road in Paerata Blocks 1 and 2, Blocks III and IV, Maungaru Survey District:
And whereas the said lands are held or occupied by Native owners under a title which is not derived from the Crown:
And whereas a map in duplicate has been prepared of the said lands, as required by the eighty-ninth section of “The Public Works Act, 1905”:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by the eighty-ninth section of the said Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that the lands shown upon such map, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be deemed to be taken for the purposes of the said road as from the twentieth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and eight.

Drawback of Duty on Goods exported from New Zealand.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of July, 1908.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section nine of “The Customs Duties Consolidation Act, 1882,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby alter the regulations of the eighteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and six, and appearing in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-sixth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and six, by deleting from Regulation 2 of Class C of the said regulations the words “and stores for warships which cannot be conveniently obtained out of a bonded warehouse.”
And doth hereby declare that such alteration shall take effect on and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
