and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on
the 1st day of October in each and every year during a
period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period
of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off, and
subject in all respects to the provisions relating to a special
rate raised as security for a loan under the said Act. The
interest to be paid on such loan is at the rate of £4 10s.
per centum per annum, and the cost of raising such loan
and the interest thereon for one year are to be paid out
of such loan.

The foregoing resolution was passed at a special meeting
of the Eltham Drainage Board held on the 27th day of
May, 1908, and confirmed at a special meeting of the said
Board held on the 27th day of June, 1908.

ELTHAM DRAINAGE BOARD.

Special Order making Special Rate.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it
in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the
Eltham Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows: That,
for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges
on a loan of £100, authorised to be raised by the Eltham
Drainage Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the
purpose of constructing the undermentioned drains, water-
courses, or outfalls for water—namely, to make, construct,
widen and (or) deepen a drain, watercourse, or outfall for
water commencing at the drain on the boundary-line
between Subdivisions 12 and 13 of Sub. 1, Pukengahu Block,
Block VII, Survey District of Ngai re, and proceeding thence
in a north-easterly direction along such boundary-line for a
distance of 24 chains, more or less, being one continuous
public work contained within continuous boundaries within
the Eltham Drainage District—the Eltham Drainage Board
hereby makes and levies a special rate of 3d. in the pound
upon the rateable value (on the basis of capital value) of all
the rateable property of that portion of the Eltham
Drainage District comprising the whole of Subdivisions 12
and 13 of Sub. 1, Pukengahu Block, Block VII, Ngai re
Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an
annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and
be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and
every year during a period equal to the currency of such
loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is
fully paid off, and subject in all respects to the provisions
relating to a special rate raised as security for a loan under
the said Act. The interest to be paid on such loan is at the
rate of £4 10s. per centum per annum, and the costs of
raising the loan and the interest thereon for one year are to
be paid out of such loan.

on the original loan of £700) required to complete the drain-
construction works, known as Loan No. 5, and specified in
special order published in the New Zealand Gazette of the
14th day of December, 1905, page 2882, the Eltham Drainage
Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 3½d. in the
pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of capital value)
of all the rateable property of that portion of the Eltham
Drainage District comprising Sections 35 and 36, Block XV,
Ngai re Survey District; Sections 31, 48, part Section 49,
other part Section 49 (now shown on map as Section 52),
Section 51, south-western portion of Section 47 (containing
55 acres), and southern portions of Section 29 (25 acres) and
Section 50 (25 acres), all situate in Block XI aforesaid: and
that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during
the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the
1st day of October in each and every year during a period
equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-
six years, or until the loan is fully paid off, and subject in all
respects to the provisions relating to a special rate raised as
security for a loan under the said Act. The interest to be
paid on such loan is at the rate of £4 10s. per centum per
annum, and the cost of raising such loan and the interest
thereon for one year are to be paid out of such loan.

Special Order making Special Rate.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the
Eltham Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That,
for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges
on a loan of £6,500, authorised to be raised by the Eltham
Borough Council, under Part II of the above-mentioned Act,
for the purpose of engaging in the following undertakings,
namely—

For making streets within the Borough of Eltham . . . . £2,750
For water and drainage extensions within the Borough of Eltham . . 3,750

the said Eltham Borough Council hereby makes and levies
a special rate of 3d. in the pound upon the rateable value (on
the basis of capital value) of all the rateable property in the
Borough of Eltham as appearing on the valuation roll; such
rate to be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of
such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October
in each and every year during the currency of such loan,
being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully
paid off, and subject in all respects to the provisions relating
to a special rate raised as security for a loan under the said
Act. The interest to be paid on such loan is at the rate of
£3 10s. per centum per annum, and the interest thereon for
one year, together with the cost of raising the loan, is to be
paid out of such loan.

The foregoing resolution was passed at a special meeting of
the Eltham Borough Council held on the 2nd day of June,
1908, and confirmed at a special meeting of the said Council
held on the 3rd day of July, 1908.
